From Discord to Roll20

A friend of mine said that I should move our game over here, but i am unaware of how to do so. I have character sheets, enemies, gear, and an overworld. I'd appreciate a tutorial, and can provide the discord invite if needed

Here's a video I made for folks starting from scratch on Roll20.
The video is definitely helpful with the tools, as well as a general overview. But how would I make things such as my own compendium and character sheet?

Compendiums are strictly developer and licensing partner territory at the time being. Have you checked the list of sheets to see if your system is supported? What do you play?
A game I call viral apocalypse. I'd like to bring over the game, but I won't be able to if I'm required to use a preset character creation and monster layout. The game itself is built from the ground up.

In that case, unless you are handy with HTML and CSS and willing to fork out for a Pro subscription, you are limited to using the attributes and abilities tab in place of character sheets*. That's what everybody used before Character Sheets were introduced. *Or find a kind-hearted volunteer or are willing to pay a not insubstantial amount to hire someone with those skills. Building character sheets from scratch takes time and skill.
I'm not opposed to paying for a subscription or someone else's services, but before either option can be considered, I'd need to know how successful this "port" would be, and more importantly, if possible

Well, without a good description of game mechanics, it is unlikely someone will be able to really help you out with how difficult it would be to get going on roll20.&nbsp; Some things you can start with... Can you set up dice rolls for the mechanics you need?&nbsp; <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Dice_Reference" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Dice_Reference</a> <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros</a> If your system is based somewhat closely on a game system that already has a sheet, maybe that sheet can be used as is or be altered to work instead of writing one totally from scratch.&nbsp; All the existing sheet code can be found on github.&nbsp; GitHub - Roll20/roll20-character-sheets: Character sheet templates created by the community for use in Roll20. Then there is info on building sheets if it comes to that.&nbsp; You would probably start with this page: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Building_Character_Sheets" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Building_Character_Sheets</a>
The dice mechanics and automation is what I came here for, accuracy and damage resistance is definitely a taxing factor in our gameplay. Here is a blank character sheet followed by one of my player's&nbsp; <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tsLlfPEsYwk0Tfx4P_-CnwxnrBK6xuelufEJT-3KYY0/edit?usp=drivesdk" rel="nofollow">https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tsLlfPEsYwk0Tfx4P_-CnwxnrBK6xuelufEJT-3KYY0/edit?usp=drivesdk</a> <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/11q-dUMNlxshiho8bU0k7eWycYCxZ35rip_ZDNyKo4_w/edit?usp=drivesdk" rel="nofollow">https://docs.google.com/document/d/11q-dUMNlxshiho8bU0k7eWycYCxZ35rip_ZDNyKo4_w/edit?usp=drivesdk</a> And here is the basic creation options <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nW7BKKV4S_Mcr1tUVa4QRUDrlAWPwljHsbqEzNDTqhM/edit?usp=drivesdk" rel="nofollow">https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nW7BKKV4S_Mcr1tUVa4QRUDrlAWPwljHsbqEzNDTqhM/edit?usp=drivesdk</a> <a href="https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GEn6PSG9I0vsN9TtD6tzMIYCVWxWOtnx__cDlrEv9fA/edit?usp=drivesdk" rel="nofollow">https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GEn6PSG9I0vsN9TtD6tzMIYCVWxWOtnx__cDlrEv9fA/edit?usp=drivesdk</a> I used Fallout's SPECIAL because it is simpler to understand. If I am using a similar method from a predecessor, I would gladly integrate it into our "evolution" from discord

I'm not volunteering to learn your game's mechanics.&nbsp; :P&nbsp; I was posting those so that you could research how to set up macros/dice rolls for your system. There are several fallout sheets listed on github.&nbsp; Have you tried creating games with those to see if they come close to working for you?
I will start sifting through the lot, thanks for the sense of direction.

Speaking as someone who has run the same game for 6 years now without a character sheet, just the Bio &amp; Attributes&amp;Abilities tabs: it works better than you might think.&nbsp;&nbsp; Especially if you have a Pro level subscription and thus can use API.&nbsp; If you are interested, I can give some advice on where to start as either a Free or Pro user.
You've peaked my interest, how would I use the tabs in a character sheet's stead?and what difference would a pro subscription make?

I recommend just clicking "Create New Game" (it's free, and your game will only have just-you-alone in it). Poke around. Test it. Go to the Journals tab within your game. Click "Add New Character". It will show you a totally blank bio page. Click "Edit". You'll see where you can type whatever you want, and put a picture, for example try putting the picture of 1 of your characters, and type a few bits like their name. BOOM! Now you have created your own character sheet, without hiring anyone. As far as programming automation, making a cool HTML/CSS pretty character sheet, or using the Attributes tab to save stats that can be used automatically in dice roll mechanics --- that's another step, and that's your goal, that's in your future as you move to Roll20. But seriously just get started with creating a free, blank, empty new game, and start typing one Character with no automation, just a name and a picture, and then decide if (that) you like Roll20 and want to build up your game on here.

Just to clarify, what Gold and Gen Kitty are talking about would be a new game where the character sheet is set to "None".&nbsp; That gives you the Bio &amp; Info tab and the Attributes &amp; Abilities tab (no html &amp; css character sheet tab in between the 2).

There's no wiki article or guide for running sheetless games, is there?

There is the wiki page for character journals:&nbsp; <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Journal" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Journal</a> It covers how to use the Bio and Attribute &amp; Ability tabs.&nbsp; I'll work on a post here that covers some of the basics in a few days.&nbsp; It's 'just' a matter of learning how to write macros and use token action/macro buttons and the like ;)
