Lover of story and rp looking for a group to learn the rules of DnD

Hey there, I've spent a lot of time over my life playing a faux version of DnD that mostly lacks combat but keeps the adventure/puzzles/traps/dice. I am wanting to get in to DnD 3.5e or 4e, I would prefer to participated in a fantasy based campaign (not interested in anime/ post apocalyptic at the moment). If you have a spot and you dont mind teaching someone with half a foot in the door and a passion for rp let me know! I'm available any day or time, as I work at home.

Might find it easier to go with 4th ed. as that's what out there now as well as games like Pathfinder or Dungeon World (lighter rules/story & character heavy) and drivethrurpg a good source for many things.

How much are you into Role Play. As my game is on a very different RP level and is focused on Reality and story.

If you're a fan of story and narrative, I would suggest DungeonWorld, or if you're set on D&D, Pathfinder. While there are exceptions, D&D 4e is very combat-centric; Story can be great with a good DM, but 4e character skills/abilities are all aimed towards combat. DungeonWorld is geared around mutual story-telling. Pathfinder is an evolution of D&D 3.5 with a large capacity for character customization.
