New role-playing game system

Hi, all! I'd like to play with a role-playing game that is not implemented in the site. It requires character sheets, and programming, for dice throws, skills, etc. I can't use existing games as a base, I have to start from scratch. Is this possible? Where can I see documentation, to get an idea? And I guess you need a Pro account to be able to do that. Once the system is created, is it necessary to have a Pro account to play it? Will a Plus account or a free account allow me to play the game? And last but not least, of course with the rights to the game, will it be possible to create assets for the store? Thank you for your help Richard

Taking these in order: Is this possible? Yes. Where can I see documentation, to get an idea? The Wiki front page has links to detailed instructions on building character sheets . And I guess you need a Pro account to be able to do that. Yes, or you need to be working with someone who has a pro account and sets up a game for you develop in. Once the system is created, is it necessary to have a Pro account to play it? Unless Roll20 includes your sheet in its drop-down choices for installation, it is necessary for a game creator to have a Pro account to use custom sheets. You can contact <a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a> to inquire about the eligibility of your sheet. Will a Plus account or a free account allow me to play the game? Assuming the sheet has been accepted into the repository, anyone can use it. If it is not, a Pro user (yourself or another) can create the game using the custom sheet code. If the account hosting that game drops to free or plus, you can continue to use the sheet, you just can't alter the code. And last but not least, of course with the rights to the game, will it be possible to create assets for the store? I don't see why this would be an issue, but it's a subject best handled by direct private conversation by contacting the team at the address above
Thanks a lot for yours answers, Keith!

Another thing to bear in mind: if you just want to play a game which doesnt have a character sheet, you still can. You can use the Attributes and Abilities tab to set up attributes, skills, powers, whatever you need. It's not pretty, its very clunky, but it works - it's what we all had to use before character sheets were introduced.

I recommend starting with what GiGs said, and then advance to the other ideas/presentations. It's a "walk before you run" type of advice on this. Doing the basic-basics first will just help to set you up for making the Char Sheet later, and will help you make some decisions and playtest and adapt how you want to do things, along the way. It will let you know if it's worth the time it will take. Good idea, Gold. I'll play with Fate, to be familiar with the Roll20 features. Thanks.

Just tossing my two pennies into the ring. If you feel you must have a sheet, think about figuring out what fields you need and how you want it laid out. Generally it is easiest if you have a static character sheet then duplicate that static sheet in Roll20. An example that I can think of is the sheet I author now. The original sheet (created the game systems designer) was just a html /css static sheet that simulated a paper character sheet. When I took over the sheet, I expanded it to be more interactive with sheetworkers, repeating sections for spells, weapons, and inventory, and other items. Start small and basic till you understand what you want and have a picture or idea of what you want it to look like.

I recommend you follow GiGs advice too. I ran my 13th Age game for a long time with no character sheet, because they didn’t exist then. Since then I’ve used the 3 versions of 13th Age sheet.&nbsp; I still use just Attributes and Abilities tab for monsters, because there’s no monster character sheet. I just add the 4 Attributes and create Abilities from the monster description. Easy!
Thanks for your advices. As I'll begin with Fate, I'll have characters sheets.&nbsp; I’ll see in a few months how I can cerate my own.
