QUESTION FOR BOTH TEAM A & TEAM B

Kinda limited what I can do at work with (a) no headphones to login for calls, and (b) not much happening at the moment, so doodling around online a bit.  Looking at D&D Beyond.   If I, as the DM, created a Master Tier account, it seems I could give players the link and they could create their players there (the ones that aren't already on D&D Beyond, at least).  Would players like to store their players there?  If so, I can swing the membership (like $55 a year or something like that, about the same, little more, than the Roll20 I already pay for).  If more than a few players would want to create their players there, I'm game.  lmk.

I think it is not a necessity, I do think that the helpful tools its comes with would benefit newer player.

I do have 6 allowed characters stored there in d&d beyond for the free account membership. I also had a character brought over to roll20 but it was not fully integrated in Journal but only in the edit/popout instead. Works.  I have not bought the books in d&d beyond but I have purchased parts inside the book to make a full functional character, which I am using on roll20. A friend was able to transfer this character over, I was not able to since I have never DM a game to learn the process. So it is possible. 

I was looking while bored..  as for books, I own most of them now, if I was to buy then again, I'd buy them on Roll20 so players could use them in the in-game compendium, and I'd have the stuff available to use in-game.  Have a number of monster books, both Wizards and Paizo, so won't be short of monsters.

I think we're fine right now as is. I haven't had any problems with my sheet.

You might be able to talk to a dev about owning those books and showing them your code in back of book and they might - MIGHT let you have them with a small fee or no fee and place you on your account.
