A darkness in the world, vampire the masquerade v20.

Hello any and all who maybe interested in self horror as well as conflict and the like questioning humanity and self-worth. Creatures of the night leading a life both in the mortal realm and outside it. Controlling and influencing the world around them through subtly and treason. I bring to you the world of darkness, vtm v20, a vampire chronicle, based around the deviousness and cunning of the Camarilla. fight your way to survive the nights in a kindred society, by doing favors and obtaining favors. question the knowledge of an elder and be punished greatly. question your humanity, will and self control. or will you left the beast control you System: Whitewolf: Vampire the Masquerade 20th anniversary edition. ( revised clan books will be considered and heavily looked over before approval of character.) The place of play will be via roll20 and skype. It provide dice, name plating, and voice communication which is a must.( if you can not do voice communication please look else where) The time(s) and day(s) at which we will gather will be 1 of 3 days on a bi weekly gathering. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the time frame will be rough 4/5pm cst. or utc-6. lateness will be resolved with xp penalties unless already worked out with myself and the group. The average play time will be around 4-5 hours with several breaks if needed, can be extended if things in game are not resolved and can be shorted due to unexpected circumstances. This is a Mature rating game, as such I would like the players to be mature. 18+ in age please, I would hate for someones parents to come in distrupt the game because a child is swearing and using lewd words and describing horrifying actions. House rules, No elders or Ancilla are allowed to be played, You are all neonates and or fledglings. (please none of this bs about oh this messes with my concept etc.) No generation lower than 12. these are the final nights elders and the like are limited for a reason.(please none of this bs about oh this messes with my concept etc.) No black hand membership, we are not sabbat, no resources over 3( unless you have a legit back story) No dots allowed in generation except for 1 point to boost you to 12th gen. no status above 1 dot. No paths, Humanity is what you will be playing( atleast for now) Merits and flaws you are able to take 7 points worth of flaws to get 7 points worth in merits.( nothing from the revised clan books without first informing me with little debate) Attributes, none will be raised above 4 when you are done with character sheet abilities none above 4 after character is done. as for character creation attributes are 7/5/3 abilities 13/9/5 and 15 freebies. Lastly a short bio of post and pre kindred condition will be needed, it doesnt not be extensive it can be in bullet point format and in chronological order, first 4 people to do so will be invited to play. I might be interested, though I am curious why you think anything lower than gen 12 is an elder/ancilla... Even 8 and 9 aren't considered true elder generations. Usually 7 and down where they have the ridiculous superpowers, massive bloodpool and attributes at 6+ O_o Also, what clans are allowed? Camarilla only? Or was it Camarilla faction only? Are the Assamite Sorcerers part of Camarilla in your particular timeline yet or are they still loyal to Alamut?
Question 1: elders, ancilla and the like. This is set up so players are low on the totem pole, with little status or influence. Being low in the kindred power structure. question 2: generation, lower gen gives you better power in blood making you more effective. Equal to the elders and ancilla. Again you are low on the status structure. You character should not be over 100 years old. It is the way of this chronicle, you want power and recognition, earn it. Nothing is given in the world of darkness.
Question 3: the clans, Yes Camarilla clans only. So ventrue, Malkavian, toreador, Tremere, nosferatu, brujah, gangrel. No
Anything lower than 12 is more in the realms of ancilla past about 9th gen is getting into more elder. Those are my conditions.

I'm a huge fan of the VtM: 20th Anniversary Edition and purchased a PDF copy of the book and character sheets a while back. I have been looking for an opportunity to put them to use, and would be very interested in a group like this, especially one that seems to focus on the more psychological aspects rather than playing a super high-powered game. I've outfitted a rough initial character concept as detailed below: Character Name: Gavin Turner Concept: Diamond in The Rough Clan: Ventrue Nature: Survivor Demeanor: Soldier PRE-EMBRACE: Growing up the child of a single parent is never easy, especially when that parent is an unstable, alcoholic mother who seemed hell bent on reminding you every day just what a burden you've been on her. The first ten years of Gavin's life were spent wavering between wholesale neglect and varying degrees of soul crushing cruelty at the hands of his abusive mother, until she married again and had another kid. After that he was just ignored entirely, an outsider in his own family while the attention and love he never had was lavished on his baby half-brother. Despite all efforts to earn some positive attention, something about Gavin seemed to ignite a hatred in his mother that he never understood. Fast forward seven years and at the tail end of high-school Gavin had become a young, good looking kid who seemed reasonably well adjusted to those on the outside looking in. Yet his forceful personality and leadership potential was wasted on being so emotionally shut off, dropping out of junior varsity football after only a season and letting his grades slip. His mother was still beating him on occasion, but he'd been big enough for the past few years that it never really got to him. Not really. Yet he'd never known who his real father was, and in one big blow-out argument his mother revealed that he was a bastard - the product of a rape her brother had committed when they were young. That night Gavin was thrown out into the streets, left with nothing but a backpack and a lifetime of low self esteem coming to a head. It wasn't long before Gavin found himself mixed up with the wrong people, ending up working for a criminal organization that involved itself in human trafficking. Though young, Gavin had a talent for carefully measured intimidation and level headed decisions, combined with an unconscious death wish stemming from his self loathing that made him fearless when dealing with any rival crews. These qualities combined with a lack of any serious drug abuse problems made him natural leadership material, and within a few short years found himself in charge of a small crew responsible for shuttling girls across state lines to safe houses where they were to be sold. Yet unknown to him, someone had seen the potential in him, and was determined to make the most of it. POST-EMBRACE: The shadowy leader of Gavin's criminal employers was a Ventrue vampire, a promising young Ancilla who had made her mark by trafficking in kine of all sorts and ensuring her Kindred clients' thirst was satisfied. Combined with the connections she made prostituting these human slaves to powerful political and municipal figureheads, her power base was assured, and the only thing missing was a promising young lieutenant to ensure her growing organization didn't fall apart. Though there were hardened criminals twice Gavin's age that she might have chosen, his undeniable force of will and relative youth meant he would be both an effective enforcer and malleable underling. After obtaining permission from the local Prince, Gavin's employer brought him into darkness at the tender age of twenty three, revealing to him the hidden truths both within their criminal organization and the world at large. She hinted of the great legacy he had been Embraced to, of Clan Ventrue and their mighty heritage as masters of the night. Yet Gavin only knew about all that in theory, remaining purely street level, and grappling with his new undead condition. The following year saw his rudimentary instruction in Camarilla society, along with a solid grasp on his newly fledged powers, struggling against the wiles of the Beast and developing a rarefied taste. Gavin soon learned he could only feed from mothers, women who had given birth at least once, anything else was like drinking raw sewage. Though he played the part of a loyal underling, Gavin found himself dreaming of the night when he would break away from his Sire, feeling revulsion at the thought he traded one abusive mother-figure for the demands of another....

This would be my first VtM: 20th Anniversary Edition game, I've had the book for a long time I'm so happy to see an opportunity to finally put it to use! Character Name: Julian Richards Concept: Intellectual Clan: Malkavian Nature: Sociopath Demeanor: Enigma Pre-Embrace: Julian was a kind of prodigy from the age of eight, and up. His mind is a fascinating thing, he thinks about things in a way that others simply wouldn't - or couldn't. He was a lover of the academic world, his knowledge of literature, history, philosophy, and several other fields of expertise led him to a rather well known career as a professor of humanities. His secret passion was always for the occult, a passion that led him into the arms of one of the Malkavian. The Malkavian was drawn to him for one reason alone, Julian was a sociopath with a particularly demented approach. He loved nothing more than leading those lesser in intelligence than he down a path that would end in their 'untimely' death. He was thirty six when the vampire imbued him with the madness of the Malkavian clan. Post-Embrace: It was a 'prank' (as the Malkavian's are prone to calling them) that took one of the greatest minds of their generation (and one of the most successful killers) and turned him into an unstable madman. Julian was afflicted, as all Malkavian's are, with a terrible mental derangement. In his particular case, severe bipolar disorder. Now he is prone to severe and violent fits of rage, or deep depressions that appear seemingly at random. When lucid, he seems to be a perfectly normal - if idiosyncratic- young man. A veritable master of Dementation, he is still up to his old tricks, pushing those around him into completing his usually inconceivable plans. --- Essentially I see him as a Hannibal Lecter type of character. He's charismatic and a master manipulator, but has a dark sociopathic bent that spices things up a bit. To assuage any fears you might have, I don't see him as being a jabbering lunatic, rather he seems as though he is perfectly sane...right up until he doesn't.

Hello. I'm interested as I love VtM and search for a game again, but there are a few questions I have: 1) Do you mean bi-weekly as in "twice a week" or "every other week". I've seen that word used to describe either, so I'm asking. 2) Do you mean to pick one of those days differently every time, or pick one and then stick with it? I ask because of the three days only the Friday is a real possibility for me. Thursday it's too late at night (I'm from Europe) and I have to get up the next day. And Saturday nights I got a different game already. Right now I don't have any character yet, but I'll see if I can come up with something today.
Game will be played 2 times a month, every other week. days listed are the only days I am available, to run so we will pick one and stick with it. currently we have a Malkavian and a ventrue.

Character Name: Castor Troy Concept: Self Made Man Clan: Brujah Nature: Rogue Demeanor: Competitor Pre-Embrace: Whether you're a rave goer or club rat, you know who Castor Troy is. A promoter and organizer in his youth for underground illegal warehouse raves, Castor quickly made his mark by being the face and name of a good time during the eighties. His name on a flier meant the party was going to be legendary and it didn't take long before drug dealers were attracted to his events. Seeing their business as the more profitable, Castor enlisted the aid of his little brother, a chemist known only to the public as Pollex. Pollex mixed and produced a highly purified synthetic brand of MDMA, also known as ecstasy, which hit the club scene like a hammer. It wasn't long before Castor recruited a young drug dealer, Danny Loomis, to be the primary distributor for Pollex ecstasy. It was the late eighties, and ecstasy was everywhere, thanks primarily to Castor Troy. Ten years later, Castor gave orders through Loomis to a small crew of drug dealers responsible for distributing Pollex to clubs and bars all across the city. Everyone who owned a club or ran any kind of public event knew that Castor's dealers were just a fact of life, especially since Castor once beat a guy to death for threatening to go to the cops. With a long time sitting at the top, Castor believed himself untouchable. Post-Embrace: Unknown to Castor, his drugs had long been circulating in feeding grounds for local Kindred. His flamboyant lifestyle and reputation had attracted the attention of more than one vampire over the years, but the one who decided it was time to teach Castor a lesson showed up at a VIP party on a balmy night in August. She introduced herself as Lace, and immediately stood apart from all the other vapid whores that Castor had seen over the years. A few whispered words and a brush of the hand, and it wasn't long before they found themselves alone, where Lace immediately began taunting Castor and mocking the image he'd carefully cultivated. The slap that followed didn't even seem to faze her; in fact, Lace laughed in his face. Infuriated, Castor tried to put the bitch in her place, before that five foot nothing, hundred-and-ten pound woman had him on his knees in a grip of solid iron. She hissed her taunts again just before sinking her fangs into his neck. Embraced that night, Castor Troy became a vampire, learning about the ways of the undead from his alternately hated and loved Sire, Lace Maddox. Yet Castor wasn't about to let almost fifteen years of work go down the drain, continuing to run his business and making a ghoul of his lieutenant Loomis in the process. Castor had discovered that he was a fish in a much bigger pond than he originally thought, and soon turned his efforts towards survival in the only way he knows how: be the best.

As requested: Character Name:Vassilis(Bill) Kotas Concept:Outsider Clan:Brujah Nature:Martyr Demeanor:Idealist Pre-Embrace: Bill's early years were plagued by the poverty and social turmoil of Greece in the '30s.His mother left alone to look for him,as his father died in exile,accused for Communism.Despite growing up learning to hate the leaders,he loved his country,and when opportunity arose to fight the fascists in 1940 defending his home,he jumped at the oppurtunity.Immediatetly he was distinguished in many battles against the Italians,and rose up in his comrades' opinion.Officers though,saw him as a double edged sword,appreciated for his battle prowess,disliked for his left wing heritage,and his lack of discipline. After fighting the Axis,he joined the resistance despising the government for choosing to leave and fight with the leftover army in egypt.His disgust grew even larger when,after the liberation,he was accused of the same crime as his father.Having no other way to avoid exile or execution,he joined the Guerrilas in the mountains in the Greek civil wars.Many comrades he saw fall in an unwinnable fight,yet he stayed there,waiting for his death. Post-Embrace: As the final hours of the civil war were coming close,the government used the US provided Napalm bombs ontop of the last remaining fighters,cornered on the Greek mountains.Bill was lucky to escape the slaughter being on patrol that day,only to return back to the sight of a smauldering encampment,with the charred corpses of his brothers-in-arms littering the ground.Almost deranged,unable to talk and devastated,he roamed the woods,lost for days. Just before he reached collapse,and final release of his torture,Bill walked into a small Greek village,just as night came.Collapsing,just before reaching the town's water pump,he saw a shadowy figure of an old man aproaching him.Next thing he remembers,was waking up in a warm room,bedded and cleaned.As he looked around and gathered his awakening mind,Bill realised there was a man sitting next to the fireplace,observing him."Oh,finally awake....."Kapitan" Vasilli"."where am i" he whispered."it doesn't matter,what matters is that i've been looking for you,fearing the millitary police would get u first"."You are renowned across the country for your deeds and character and thought it would be a waste of potential to see you dead"."my spirit is allready dead,my weak body soon to follow" Bill replied."Body weak?no,no,no......NOT FOR LONG" said the stranger as he leaped across the room,sinking his Fangs in Bill's neck.Bill now was a vampire,learning of his new world,and the following years he travelled the world with his master,trying to keep the etiqutte for his sake,gratefull of the chance he gave him to make the world right. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I basically see Vassili as a somewhat dissilussioned revolutionary,forever trying to right the wrongs of the world of mortals,even if he belongs to a different world now.Also,the character being Greek(as am i) might help to keep imersion for the rest,with my accent and not fluent knowledge of english for my part.

I am interested in this game but like so many others I do have questions. The first is on the setting itself. What year is this game going to be taking place and more importantly where is it? The second question is due to this being a game of the final nights are thin blooded characters allowed? AKA 14th, 15th or Dhampir? I only ask as you mention that stuff from the revised clanbooks might come into play so I figured I would ask.
Oh I totally forgot to ask this question. If I wish to play a Tremere am I limited to what path of Thaumaturgy I may take as either my primary or in general?

It's cool Quatar, I'm sure we can make Friday work. Just need to clear it from Chance and then I think we're in the clear.
Friday or Saturday are my preferred days. So either of those work for me!
We can make a topic for this on the campaign page so its not flooding other chatter.
Also, I would personally prefer, if we play Friday, that we start at 5:00pm cst, since I have work Friday's and get off at four-ish, so that'll give me exactly enough time to get home.
