Hi there, I'm running a complete home
brew game that's about 11 sessions in and I'm toying with the idea of
adding one to two more players. The game is streamed on Mixer and we
use Discord to chat as well a text section to do some downtime or in
between session stuff.
Currently we are playing every week on
Saturday nights 10pm PST, the sessions last anywhere from 3 – 4
hours.
The
game is a low fantasy home brewed game (with
its own rules and dice system)
that focuses a bit more on RP then just combat - 60 / 40 on avg. its
not a dungeon crawl, or just a dice rolling game as there have been
quite a few sessions where nothing happens.
Here
is the short version of the game.
-
Long term play, live your characters life, starting out at level one
-
Open ended game, choose what to do
-
A fairly new world
-
Open class system.
-
No magic
-
Anything can happen (I don't shy away from much, if there is
something you are uncomfortable with please let me know)
What
are the expectations for the game?
Be
reliable, don't commit if you are unsure if you can make the game
sessions.
Keep
meta gaming to a minimum.
Take
your characters seriously, And be able to stay in character (don't
want players that have to make 5 characters to make it through the
session – that's an exaggeration but just to give you an idea of
what I mean)
Be
able to give constructive feedback (this is a home brew game that's
not perfect by any means)
Also
be open to making new friends!
That
is the short version of the game. If your interested I'd like to hear
from you!
For
anyone still curious or wanting to know a bit more here is the
moderate version.
I
have always liked running character driven games, where the player
can be who they want to be and have those actions follow them.
In
my games the players start out just like anyone else in the world,
they are not heroes....
I
don't like to hamper character choice, “your the good guys” you
cant do that. (granted I would make sure that's what you REALLY
want to do and your aware that there are consequences lol)
I like the approach of this is YOUR characters story. You can be
known for good, evil or nothing at all if that's how you want to
play.
The
game has an open class system, where you choose the starting class,
kind of a background of your characters but you are not limited to
“Class” skills. If you can find someone to train you, and you
have the points to gain the skill, you can learn it. Even if you
aren't skilled in something you can still try to do it.
OMG
no magic?!
Yes
that's kinda true, I felt with how magic is so mainstream it has lost
just how awesome it is supposed to be. With magic schools, potions
and scrolls everywhere there is no mystique about it. So in this
world IF... if there is magic, its unknown, and since I'm on the
subject, gods are a fairly new concept to the people in the game as
well. The game world is constantly changing people have just recently
gotten accustomed to non humans (Elves / intelligent orcs and the
like)
The
goal in all of this is for the players to have a hand at forging the
future of the game world, after all some of the major events in the
game were the players doing.
lastly...
I'm
hoping to further build the game as it is a work in progress. I also
wouldn't mind creating a community (Discord) of gamers where we could
still play one shots if that's also what you want to do too.
