Elysian Academy Foundation of Greatness Elysian Academy was founded by Oghma, The Lord of Knowledge on a distant world to establish a place for humanity to grow. Through the ages many adventurers have set out upon dangerous journeys to often only find death. Our Founder saw this as a waste of potential and with the support of his fellow knowledge deities he went about the process of gaining the support of the other deities. The pantheon's of the more hardy humanoid races did not see much use for this "Training Academy" as their people did not need such things to be great. However the Gods that had greater followers within the more fragile races, especially the humans saw the promise. The Good wanted stronger champions and the Evil wanted more skilled servants. The Founder's desire to make this a place of neutral learning open to the good and the bad did cause turmoil in early phases but he explained that knowledge should be open to all no matter alignment. The champions of good could more easily and effectively stop evil, and the servants of evil could more efficiently do their work with less collateral damage. Elysium space as the crystal sphere that was chosen to be home to the academy came known by took many generations to properly build. First they molded the planets of the space to their desire, sparked the life, built the academy on the prime planet, and finally began to seek out students. Youth from all races were sent missives explaining the academy but it quickly became obvious that the only race willing to take up the offer were the brash and foolhardy humans. They were so ready to find some purpose in life, knowledge, power that they quickly jumped upon the otherworldly ships to be whisked off to Elysium. With time the students went on to prosper as the multiverse's greatest heroes and villains, the greatest of which gaining immortality to return as teachers of the academy. The series of events the Gods started when they created this new system went far beyond what they realized as the more hardy races reproduction rate dwindled till they could no longer sustain their populations. With their worshipers dwindling the racial pantheons reached out to the academy backers to offer the human students a chance to join their races. A few humans a year joining their ranks replicate the long lived race's natural reproduction rate.
