Using Pathfinder Module for 5E D&D

Hi, First time posting, recently discovered Roll20 and love at what it does.

I noted in an earlier post that someone wanted to know if they could run a Pathfinder module with 5E D&D rules. details are here: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/7482270/can-pathfinder-modules-be-mondified-for-dnd-5e#newtopic

I would love to run Rise of the Runelords (Pathfinder Adventure Path). However some of the players will not get on with the rules for Pathfinder. They can just about cope with 5E. I would like to run the module available on the Marketplace here at Roll20. Having all the maps, adventure text, and tokens preloaded would save a monumental amount of time for me. However, before spending $60, I would like to know if this would work.

The idea is I would start a Rise of the Runelords, selecting the 5E character sheet. (I would then need to link the 5E compendium entries to the tokens, but happy to do that).

The questions are. Has anyone tried this? Has it worked?

I have not tried this, but I can predict some of the issues.

1. The adventure text and maps should be fine, though the text will probably reference and link to PF rules. If you are familiar enough with PF/5e, you should be able to work past this.

2. Character sheets (PC & NPC) will need to be replaced. The PF sheets are filled with PF data which will not transfer. Even if some attributes map out to the same name (ex: strength), large amounts of it will simply bloat the game, giving no useful return. You could likely open a goblin sheet and drag a 5e goblin from the compendium over it, re-writing it with 5e data, but the bad data will still remain and RotRL is big. Also, you will almost certainly see unpredictable behavior from time to time due to the bad data.

3. Because of (2), you would likely need to delete all existing monsters and characters and replace them with 5e counterparts. This is a bit time consuming, but the real problem would be in re-associating all the tokens. This could probably be done with a script (I think Token-mod could to it), but it would require a Pro subscription.

Roll20 Marketplace can sell a lot more Modules if they allow this compatibility, 2 sheets in 1 game.

Many games' products would become more compatible / co-playable with other popular games.
