Hello! I'm trying to get back into roleplaying after breaking up with my group last August. It was a tough break and I'm concerned I might have picked up some bad habits. I know I have room to improve so I welcome (constructive) feedback, good or bad and I will be the same when giving feedback as well. Eventually, I'd like to return to the GM's chair. I'm looking for a steady group. Friday nights and Sundays (Central time zone US) are best for me. I can do Saturdays with the stipulation that I won't be available on the 3rd Saturday of the month and the occasional gaming convention. I can do other evenings too after 6pm for the right campaign. Types of campaigns I am looking for: Point-based systems, I'm not a fan of rolling for stats because too much depends on luck (rolling for things like starting money and social status are fine) A non-class system so I have more freedom to create my character, or at least there being enough class flexibility to allow for such freedom A greater emphasis on roleplay than combat A modern or sci-fi setting; no horror or post-apocalyptic (I find them depressing); can do fantasy but I have to care about the setting and the characters A system with free rulebooks or one where it's OK if I don't have the rulebook at first The PCs to be the heroes or at least have the moral high ground I'm in my 40s so I'm OK with adult content (within reason). I'm also goal-oriented so I would like the campaign to have story arcs that end and takes multiple sessions to complete as opposed to an open-ended sandbox without any direction. I have Hero System 5 and 6 editions, Star Wars West End Games, and a few other RPG books but nothing really recent. But I'm willing to learn! I can be contacted here through private message. Thank you!
