It's generally best to create new threads to get the best responses, and folks are quick to read/answer threads mentioning "new player questions". 1) What is API? It's a Pro-subscriber feature. It's a multitude of code modules that can be added to games for enhancing gameplay and to implement more advanced stuff. Examples are things like automatic ammo tracking, Cool Traps, more ways to interact with tokens, or ways for players to navigate between maps by themselves. You can read about API on the helpdesk . 2) How can I use Roll20 modules when I own a physical hardcopy (without
having to buy the same module on Roll20)? (Specifially, Tyranny of
Dragons.) You can just manually copy things from your physical book. Reading the book and filling out stats for NPCs, scanning the maps/images and make maps/handouts/token images out of them, transcribing handouts etc. It's some amount of work, but the best option you have if you don't want to buy them on Roll20. owning physical copies of books or on some other digital medium doesn't unlock it for you on Roll20. Pathfinder Second Edition is the only game where there is a discount or access to a free pdf if you buy it on one platform, sync your Pazio & Roll20 accounts, and then get it on the other.
