It is now August 21st. Open Scene: The adventurers are inside of a Yuan-Ti Snake temple, having just fought 3 rock pythons in the main altar room and rescuing Zura, the son of the Matriarch Giannia of Tanaroa, the main village, south of the huge gate on the penninsula of the Isle of Dread and finding two sacks by the altar filled with gold and silver coins and six golden discs and a finely made coil of rope. The group offers to take Zura back to Tanaroa, but he insists on just heading back into the jungle to recover a bit an return home, once he is shown the way out of the huge crater that houses a swampy lake and Taboo Isle. Zura mentions to the party why the city is called the Forbidden City on Taboo isle, saying that an ancient race called the Kopru, had caputured the city from his ancestors who fled, a long time ago. The city is now known to be inhabited by the Yuan-ti snake-men. Zura, describes the Kopru, as amphibians of great intelligence and power. Their heads are smooth with large eyes and a tentacled, sphinctered mouths. They have human-like torsos and two arms ending in webbed, clawed hands. From the waist down their bodies consist of three fluke-like tails, each ending in a sharp ripping claw. Zura tells them that because of the evil here and to protect my people from getting killed. The city was Forbidden, after the huge gate and Tanoroa was built. Zura mentions to be careful inside the temple, as he has seen, Yuan-Ti, Lizard men, Headhunters and newts of fire. Zura believes Mongrelmen and Tasloi dwell in the Forbidden City as well. Zura notes that the temple is dedicated to the Yuan-Ti Demon Lord Sertrous, and mentions he could not draw a map of the city as he never got that far. The party tells Zura the way back out of the area, to get back to the jungle and Zura departs. Sheila, cast a cure light wounds and cure serious wounds spell upon Maevis, due to him getting hugged by a rock python healing back 4 and 10 hit points. The party goes to a set of double doors on the west wall of the altar room and Grax looks for a trap and rolls: 49% Needs ≤ 55%, indicating he did not find a trap. Grax, opens the door into a 15 feet long passage with a door in it's north west corner and turning south at it's south west corner. The north west door is opened and inside is a small 15 x 15 ft room with a couple small tables and a chair at each. Nothing more in the room. The party sees a huge tapestry along the west wall of a south going hallway, with two benchs along it's east wall. The tapestry depicting more snake shenanigans with various humanoids. Grax, tries to move silently, rolling 89% Needs ≤ 57%, but fails to do so, he looks around a corner at the end of the 15 ft long south passage to see two Yuan-Ti Half-bloods, whom spot him and draw their weapons, Sheila whom is behind Grax, cast the Silence 15 ft radius spell, (lasting 14 rounds [minutes]) on YT HB #02, after hearing a Yaun-Ti saying "Who are you? What do you want?, This is a sacred templ of Sertrous, our Lord!" The Yaun-Ti realize they are silenced after seeing Sheila pop up around the corner to cast the spell and they don't hear anything and then attack! Initiative rolls are made and Round #01 of Combat Begins: Rowan and Xilician, moves in closer to the fight, as does Cassandra, after going invisible using her ring of invisibility. Camlin, missed YT HB Priest with his halberd! YT HB Priest, missed Camlin with his glaive! Grax, using his magical gauntlets of fencing, missed YT HB Priest with his broad sword! Sheila, hits the YT HB Priest with her magical +2 footman's mace for 5 damage! Balen, continues to search around the small room to the north but nothing of any value is to be found. Phicenta, hits YT HB #02 for 12 double damage from a critical roll of 20, with the two-handed sword! Meavis, fires an arrow with a magical +1 composite bow at YT HB Priest but missed! Coal, fires an arrow with a long bow but missed YT HB #02! 2nd Attacks for Round #01: Maevis, fires an arrow at short range 6-60ft, but missed YT HB Priest! Coal, fires an arrow at Point blank range 6-30ft, at YT HB #02 and hits for 7 damage! 3rd Attacks for Round #01: Coal, fires an arrow at PBR, hitting YT HB #02 for 9 damage! Sheila, fumbles her +2 footman's mace trying to attack YT HB Priest! The fumble roll indicates a trip and fall stunned but Sheila rolls: 11 Needs ≤ 14 on a dexterity check and stays on her feet! Balen peeks behind the huge tapestry on the west wall to see it's solid stone. Phicenta, missed YT HB #03 with the 2-handed sword! Maevis, fires an arrow but missed YT HB Priest! Coal, fires an arrow and hits YT HB #02 for 7 damage! 2nd Attacks for Round #04: Grax, hits YT HB Priest for 12 damage with the broad sword! Maevis, fires an arrow but missed YT HB Priest! Coal, fires and arrow and hits YT HB #02 for 13 damage! 3rd Attacks for Round #04: Coal, fires and arrow and hits YT HB #02 for 9 damage, defeating the Yaun-Ti! Round #05 of Combat! Xilicien, considers casting a spell but a corner wall blocks an accurate aim. Rowan, missed the YT HB Priest with his +2 Geldered short sword! Camlin, missed the YT HB Priest with his halberd! Cassandra, stays put invisibily still. YT HB Priest, missed Rowan with his glaive! Grax, missed the YT HB Priest with his broad sword! Sheila, hits the YT HB Priest with the +2 footman's mace for 6 damage, defeating the Yuan-Ti! End of Combat! Searching the Yuan-Ti halfbloods finds pouches filled with a combined total of 18 gold, 10 silvers and 20 copper pieces. Nothing in the room is found to be valuable enought worth taking. Even though there is a door in the south west side of the room, th party opts to head for the east double doors of the altar room. Grax, attempts to Hear Noise beyond the double doors, rolling Roll: 28% Needs ≤ 25%, and does not hear anything! Grax, then checks for a trap on the door, rolling: 62% Needs ≤ 55% and did not find a trap! Balen, is worried that the two circular stairs going up to balconies surrounding the altar room, may have someone above waiting for them, as they were obviously heard, when fighting the rock pythons. Grax, opens the unlocked double doors, trying to Move Silently: Roll: 59% Needs ≤ 57%, but is not as quiet as he hoped. When the doors were opened, they now hear chanting in an unfamiliar tongue coming from somewhere down the south going hallway. They see partially into an open room area to the north and branches off the hallway 25 ft away to either side of it. Grax, again attempts to move silently to where he hears the chanting coming from, Roll: 94% Needs ≤ 57%, but again was not as quiet as he hoped to be. However, the chanting still continues. Grax, has a peek around a corner and vaguely makes out 4 shapes in the direct line off sight, straigh ahead into the west side opening. Since the chanting is not in the Yuan-Ti tongue, they believe these to be other beings. Maevis, cast the Web spell into the chapel area, which snags 3 of the 4 lizardmen in the room, which will last for 140 minutes at Maevis's level of 7. The one lizard man that made his saving throw vs the spell, is trying to move through it at half speed. Coal, moves to block the lizardman using his magical ring of free action, entering the lower opening into the chapel, as Grax and Maevis, block the upper enterance. The lizardman seeing that Coal can move effortlessly through the webbing, without fussing with it, simply stops and raises his hands. Coal says, "Hold up, don't attack." The lizardman, emphasizes his arms are raised. When ask whom he is and what he is doing he replies, "I am of the poison dusk lizard tribe, we are here to worship Sertrous." Coal says, "Who is Sertrous?" Lizardman says, "He is our Lord and Savior, who will soon come to rule over all" [Note: The party does have information from the previous party that, Sertrous is not looking to rule over the Earth but to destroy it.
