Roll your Music with tags

Hi everyone. As a player, I ear always the same few battle music selected by my GM. As a GM, I see the difficulty to select right music in 100+ list when I need it. So I think about this: Why not roll randomly the music with acceptance criteria like Tags ? What is needed : - Tags on music - new command like /play dungeon or : /p dungeon or for more specific, concat tags like this : /p dungeon.battle Other example: Just add tags on 10 different doors open sound, and just launch random one for every door in the dungeon with simple command: /p door Forgot this 100+ List of music, just need to tag right when you add new song. Thank for attention about this idea. Hope we can talk of this and see one day in this great software-tool was roll20. -- Longhost
I support this. I too came to the forum for this. However, instead of tags I had an idea of placing the different tracks into various folders. Surely, its easier to add tags, but then again its less messy with folders. I'd always imagine to place categories such as Boss, Regular Fight, Town and Sound effects in different folders. Roll20 team does a wonderful job, surely this is a minor task in comparison to all the other great things they've accomplished.

There has been some resistance on folders. Roll20 is setup specifically with tags in mind. In the mentors forum a bunch of pro-folder people have been lobbying Riley to do 'psuedo folders' which means you set up tags, but then can create a tag in your list that acts like a folder (only showing things with those tags). but we will most likely see that in the art library before anywhere else ... if at all. It's a request and not a thing anyone has any obligation to make a thing. I actually rename music with a kind of 'tag' so that it sorts how I want. Though i'm pretty picky with my sounds, so the list stays fairly small and easy to move around. Though not everyone does it how i do haha.
+1 for enabling tags in music and adding tag related commands or other tools

+1 from me too More for the music-sound /command or API part, than the tags (ive been dying to get a way to play sounds by chat/api for months)..but both with the tags added for random choice would be great! :)
+1 for api/chat to play sounds. I spend a lot of time finding and experimenting with sounds/music. I set up multi-layered backgrounds, which try to set a particular mood. As scenes change I have to do the mouse dance setting up the next scene, this would let me make macros to do this and avoid the "Wait just a minute" moments.

Couldn't agree more - the ability to link audio files with an API script would add that "frikken awesomesauce" aspect to the campaign so you could have random weapon hits and death cries etc. Still trying to work out how to get Syrinscape to work with Roll20 as well on a PC, no luck yet..
I would be thrilled if we could just Macro shortcut a sound. It would be especially useful for players who want to add in Melee combat sounds.
