Fighter – Mountain Dwarf – Flint Frostbeard -  Bart K.  (New Player) Ranger – High Elf – Willie Belson –  Buddy-D   Game Summary for Saturday (02/15/2020):   Opening Scene: Day 8: May 8 th ; 11 am After a two day trip back to Neverwinter city from an excursion in Thundertree to retrieve a family heirloom gold and emerald gem necklace for Mirna Dendrar, which she offered as a gift for rescuing her family from a life of slavery, the adventurers find the Driftwood Inn along a north shore.   The owner of the inn is Madame Rosene, waiting on customers at the main bar when the walk in and are seated at a table by Barmaid Shandra Brennick.   Willie, strikes up some conversation with a local whom owns a warehouse here on the docks, then the group discusses what course of action to do next.   Among the things they could do were to go back to Thundertree and deal with the green dragon that now uses an old wizard tower as a home. Or head back to Phandalin, to see if anything more is going on in town there. Or perhaps, visit an elf maiden Banshee known as Agatha, in Conyberry, since they have a jeweled comb to present to her in the hopes of gaining her favor for information on a long lost wizard spellbook.   The party decides to head on to Conyberry, a 5 day trip, so they rent some rooms and stay at the Driftwood Inn overnight before heading out.   They head south down the High Road for a couple of days without incident and turn eastward onto the Triboar Trail obscured in fog here and there. A short time later, they are ambushed by goblins along the Triboar, near an old open pit in the road, which was likely the rumored one a gnome priest was found in.   Both Roqar and Ravoprax were surprised as arrows come from either side of the road at them, as goblins fire their shortbows. Hitting Roqar for 9 and Ravoprax for 8 piercing damage!   Wisdom perception checks are made to see if the adventurers spotted where the arrows came from and Roqar and Ravoprax, did spot the goblins that shoot at them, hiding in the bushes.   Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 Begins: Ravoprax, cast a Fire Bolt at Goblin #04, up on a ridge along the trail, in the bushes, hitting him for 10 fire damage, defeating the goblin!   Goblin #01, fires an arrow with the short bow hitting Roqar for 8 piercing damage!   Goblin #02, fires an arrow with the short bow hitting Flint for 8 piercing damage!   Rolling a wisdom perception check, Flint spots the goblin that fired at him!   Goblin #03, fires an arrow at Murtle but missed! Murtle rolls a wisdom perception check an spotted his attacker!   Goblin #05, hits Ravoprax with an arrow for 5 piercing damage! Ravoprax spots the gobblin with a successful wisdom perception check!   Kaiser, cast the Fire Bolt spell at Goblin #01, but missed!   Flint, seeing he can not attack back at the moment due to a 4 to 5 ft high ridge along either side of the road and the fact that the goblins are covered by bushes, just stays near Murtle, in case he can get some healing from him.   Roqar, hurriedly moves along the north ridge, to use it as cover from the goblin arrows.   Willie, hits Goblin #01, with an arrow from his long bow for 7 piercing damage, defeating the goblin!   Murtle, cast a Cure Wounds spell upon Flint, healing back 21 hit points! Bringing him up to full health.   Round #02 of Combat: Ravoprax, cast the Fire Bolt spell at Goblin #05, hitting for 8 fire damage, defeating the goblin!   Goblin #01, comes sliding down the ridge with scimitar in hand, to be in front of Roqar! (ability check was rolled to see if he lands on his feet and does)   Goblin #03, fires an arrow at Ravoprax, hitting for 4 piercing damage!   Kaiser, cast the Fire Bolt spell at Goblin #02 hitting for 8 fire damage, defeating him!   Rolling wisdom perception checks, Kaiser, Willie and Ravoprax all spot the last surviving goblin, running away northward, into another patch of fog!   End of Combat!   Kaiser sends his owl familiar to track down the goblin as Ravoprax cast a Cure Wound spell upon Roqar to heal back 4 hit points. Ravoprax uses his Second Wind ability to heal back 2 hit points.   The Owl spots the goblin, run off the path and meet another goblin hiding along there, then the goblin returns to the trail heading north / northwest.   The trail goes for about 5 miles, when the owl sees that it reaches a creek, which it crosses and goes into an area of bushes to warn other goblins there and then proceeds into the nearby cave opening.   Roqar and Willie try to sneak up on the one Goblin along the north trail that the fleeing goblin went to, however he heard noise from Roqar general direction and was looking to spot the source.   Roqar tries a sneak attack and managed to lunge at and strike the goblin for 5 + 6 sneak attack damage with her short sword, defeating the goblin!   They continue along the trail when Willie spots another goblin with a wisdom perception check so he fires an arrow with the long bow and hits for 6 damage while Ravoprax cast a Fire Bolt spell at the goblin hitting for  4 damage and defeating him!   As the party continues up the trail, Flint managed to spot a snare trap with a successful wisdom perception check and avoids getting snagged up by it!   Another 10 minutes of walking and Roqar spots a cover, with dirt and gravel upon it, over an apparent pit trap with a successful wisdom perception check.   Finally after traveling the 5 miles of the path they arrive at a new area: Following the goblins’ trail, you come across a large cave in a hillside five miles from the scene of the ambush. A shallow stream flows out of the cave mouth, which is screened by dense briar thickets. A narrow dry path leads into the cave on the right-hand side of the stream.   The party retreats a bit going into the woods off the side of the trail in order to get a full rest and do so without incident.   They return to the cave opening area that the creek flows from, remembering what Kaiser told them his owl had spotted here, when the fleeing goblin alerted guards hiding in the bushes to the east side of the creek.   Knowing where to look a successful wisdom perception check from Roqar, shows that she spots a gobling guard laying on his belly in the bushes ahead, with his bow sideways and nocked with an arrow.   Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins! Ravoprax cast the Fire Bolt spell at Goblin #02 but missed him! This causes bushes near him to ignite, making the goblin stand up and back off!   Goblin #02, fires an arrow hitting Ravoprax for 7 damage! Goblin #01, also fires an arrow at Ravoprax, hitting for 6 damage!   Goblin #03, fires an arrow at Wilie, hitting for  3 piercing damage!   Roqar, charges at Goblin #01, hitting for 5 + 10 sneak attack damage, defeating him!   Willie, fires an arrow with the long bow at Goblin #02 but missed!   Murtle, stays put.   Kaiser, cast the Fire Bolt spell, at Goblin #03, but missed!   Flint, charges in and missed Goblin #02 with his 2-handed battle axe!   Round #02 of Combat! Ravoprax, cast the Fire Bolt Spell at Goblin #02 but missed!   Goblin #02, hits Flint with his scimitar for 3 slashing damage!   Goblin #03, hits Roqar for 5 slashing damage with the scimitar!   Roqar, missed Goblin #03 with the short sword!   Willie, hits Goblin #02 with an arrow for 7 damage, defeating him!   Murtle, cast the Toll the Dead spell at Goblin #03, startling the goblin with the 120 decibel sound of a dolorous bell around him, causing 3 necrotic damage!   Kaiser, cast the Magic Missile spell at Goblin #03, with 4 missiles doing 2, 5, 3, 5 = 15 damage to Goblin #03, defeating him!   End of Combat!   And this ends the gaming session for the day, until next time!   The Adventurers Earned: 50 XP for 9 Goblins = 450 XP ------- 450 XP / 6 = 75 XP each!   Level 3 reached at 900 XP   Loot Found: None   Number of Sessions for current Adventure Module:   Adventure Time: Day 11:  2  pm on May 11th 16th Session for “Lost Mines of Phandelver” 02/22/2020 [1st Session start was 10/26/2019]

Ranger – High Elf – Willie Belson –  Buddy-D Game Summary for Saturday (03/07/2020): Opening Scene: Day 11: May 11 th ; 1:00 pm Things start off right after having dealt with 3 goblin guards at the entrance of a cave they were guarding, found 5 miles north of the Triboar trail and 7 miles east of the High Road. Murtle the cleric, moves closer to the cave opening, passing by a small area the guards were in, in the brair thickets that looks hollowed out. He  comes to a large cave entrance in a hillside with a shallow stream flowing out of the cave mouth, which is screened by dense briar thickets. A narrow dry path leads into the cave on the right-hand side of the stream. Murtle then cast a Thunderwave spell, into the cave, to at least spook any occupants! A wave of thunderous force sweeps into the cave at 120 decibels and 300 ft inside! The sounds of dogs barking and growling can now be heard coming from within. Roqar the thief, goes inside to see that just inside the cave mouth, a few uneven stone steps lead up to a small, dank chamber on the east side of the passage. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears where three wolves are chained up just inside the opening. Willie the ranger, approaches the chained wolves to try to calm them down using his animal handling skill but the roll indicates he was unsuccessful at the attempt, rolling an 8 when needing a Dice Check of 15 or better. Leaving the wolves be for now, the party continues to follow the main path. The main passage from the cave mouth climbs steeply upward, the stream plunging and splashing down its west side. In the shadows, a side passage leads west across the other side of the stream. Roqar, checks for a trap just before a bend in the passage, but did not find one. As Roqar, turns the bend going up the uneven stairs, she spots a bridge. In the shadows of the ceiling to the north, you can just make out the dim shape of a rickety bridge of wood and rope crossing over the passage ahead of you. Another passage intersects this one, twenty feet above the floor. Suddenly 2 arrows come flying at Roqar from the bridge, fired by two goblins, whom she spotted with a wisdom perception check roll of 18. One of the arrows strike Roqar for 7 piercing damage! In spite of the pain from the arrow wound, Roqar, throws her dagger at one of the goblins at a -4 to hit due to a bit of cover from the bridge and scores a hit right in the left eye socket, dropping the goblin! The other goblin shouts in disbelief and is then heard to “Hit it!”, in the goblin tongue, by those in the party that understands goblin speak. A moment later the party hears loud crashes and the sound of rushing water, of which comes rushing down the stream towards the party! Roqar and Willie try to dodge the oncoming deluge by dodging into the cave passage to the north west. Roqar rolled a 13 and Willie a 17 both a success so they make it without getting flushed out of the cave and taking damage! Kaiser    rolls a 3, Flint a 9 and Murtle a 0 (has a -1 to the dex roll), while Ravoprax rolled an 18 on the Dexterity save. Kaiser took 2 damage, Flint and Murtle took 6 damage, while Ravoprax being in the back near the entrance was able to avoid the deluge diving towards the hollowed out thicket. After the deluge the water level goes back to normal. Willie, tries to fire an arrow with his long bow at the goblin on the bridge but it goes wide. The goblin fired back with his short bow, nicking Willie for 3 damage!   Initiative rolls are now made as the party goes into Combat Round #01:   Ravoprax comes running up and lets loose an arrow from his long bow and the shot just missed the goblin on the bridge!   Willie, fires a shot from his position in the north west passage, and hits and drops the goblin for 8 damage!   End of Combat!   The party decides to retreat out of the cave to collect themselves and get some cure spells.   Willie has a closer look at the hollowed out briar thicket on the east side of the stream and cave entrance.   On the east side of the stream flowing from the cave mouth, a small area in the briar thickets has been hollowed out to form a lookout post or blind. Wooden planks flatten out the briars and provide room for guards to lie hidden and watch the area.   Murtle, praying to Istishia, uses a Cure Wounds spell upon Flint, healing back 14 hit points, healing him back up to 15 hit points.   Shouting can be heard from inside as other goblins see their comrades on the bridge are down.   Murtle then prays to Istishia, using a Healing Word spell, healing 10 hit points back to Roqar, bring her total to 16 hit points.   Kaiser, then tries to taunt the Goblins to come out and fight, by hollering at them, “I’ve got a Boil on my arse that’s prettier than you!” in goblinese. A wisdom check is rolled and it’s a 6 against Kaiser Charisma of 12, indicating a fail. To see if they come running out a 1d6 is rolled 1-3 indicating they come running out but a 4 is rolled, so they take another action, to stay alert and waiting for the party, instead.   Roqar, suggests going into the area where the wolves are, saying they could get some fur coats if they can’t be calmed.   Willie, makes another attempt, using a soothing tone and showing he’s not a threat, this time with the party with him and rolls a 16 for his animal handling skill indicating a  success.   The party sees that the wolves are chained to an iron rod driven into the base of a huge stalagmite, inside the small dank chamber, filled with the stench of animals and sees that the cave narrows to a steep fissure at the far end. Roqar has a closer look at the fissure which is filled with rubbish and leads up into a natural chimney.   Willie, rolls an athletics check needing at least a dice challenge level of 10 and rolls an 11, indicating he is able to climb up the chimney. Near the top he has a peak into a campfire lit cavern and spots 2 goblins, a bugbear and a wolf, they are watching an opening, to their north.   The wolf with them, senses something in the chimney and comes over towards Willie. It looks down into the shaft to see Willie retreat and barks and growls at him.   Willie tells the party, “ We've got a bugbear leader and another wolf that bridge probably leads to them, but there’s another tricky way up to them. (the fissure)"   The party decides to split up, with Kaiser and Roqar with Willie. Willie tries to calm the wolves down again but rolls a 4 on his animal handling, so even though they are acceptance of Willie they start to bark and growl at the others with him.   So Kaiser uses his Sleep spell on the wolves and successfully puts them all to sleep!   They move along to the fissure with the chimney and all make successful athletics or acrobatics checks.   As Willie nears the top, being the first in line he tries to calm the wolf at the top and rolls a 20 on his animal handling indicating a success. As the wolf calms down, his master orders it to come over to him and he moves over to the bugbear fellow. As that happens, one of the goblins in direct line of sight to the chute hole, fires an arrow down into it missed Willie, lodging into the stone just a foot above his head!   As that is going on, Flint, Murtle and Ravoprax, meanwhile continued on and Ravoprax spots another goblin now on the bridge, backs up, sets down his lantern and fires an arrow with his longbow at the goblin, hitting for 9 damage and the goblin shouts “Do It!”, then falls to the ground.   Roqar, tries to spot more goblins, with a wisdom perception check, but does not see any, however once again the roar of rushing water is to be heard coming their way and all 3 try to dive into the north west passage, with only Flint getting washed out of the cave and taking 1 damage.   Once the deluge of water settles, Flint catches up with the others by the north west passage and they continue on, going under the bridge and up another flight of stairs, which then turns onto another flight of stairs. It is noticed that there is a section of a rocks and boulders wall that was broken through, with water flowing through the gap.   At that point an arrow from a goblin’s short bow,  roughly 10 ft up the flight of stairs, comes flying at him, striking Ravoprax for 7 damage!   Ravoprax retaliates, by casting a Chromatic Orb spell at the goblin, in which a 4 inch diameter sphere of fire, in this case, strikes the goblin, dealing out 13 hit points of damage, and dropping him!   As they go up the flight of stairs another goblin lets loose an arrow at Flint, hitting for 8 damage!   Flint rushes the goblin with his battle axe, using both hands, but missed!   Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins:   Goblin #03, fires an arrow with the short bow at Flint but missed!   Flint, hits Goblin #03 for 4 damage with his battle axe (2-handed)!   Ravopra, hits Goblin #03 for 5 damage with the Talon long sword, defeating the goblin!   End of Combat!   Ravoprax, heals up himself with a Cure Wounds spell for 20 hit points, fully healing himself.   Ravoprax, climbs up onto a section of the rock wall, to see another section of wall splitting the area in half and with it’s middle section now missing, likely indicating where the 2 nd  deluge of water came from.   The water level in those two sections now level with the floor on the opposite side.   The idea now is to go up the stairs and see what more is awaiting them and give a shout out so the others in the fissure chimney, know when to come up out of the hole to attack.   Adventure Time is now May 11 th  at 2:00 pm.   And this ends the gaming session for the day, until next time!   The Adventurers Earned: 50 XP for 5 Goblins = 250 XP 50 XP each for 3 wolves tamed = 150 XP ------- Grand Total: 400 XP / 6 = 66.66 XP each!
