" The night became grim, dark and foreboding. A silence of death lay over the land, and it seemed as though the very stars held their breath and twinkled no more." Welcome to... Game Listing: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/196653/the-red-moon-of-willowdale What is it? Level: 1 Sessions: 3 Session Length: 4 Hours Each Description: It is an intensive who-done-it mystery set in the rural town of Willowdale. As a player, you'll meet a whole cast of compelling NPC's, and be challenged to a unique set of circumstances, alibis, clues, puzzles, and danger. It's a heavy roleplay/investigative adventure, but it's got great tension, thrilling combat, betrayal, and more. With a low player level, it's designed to lean more heavily into playing the character, rather than the sheet. As players, you'll have to engage your own wits to get to the bottom of the mystery. There's also a special feeling of danger when you're only a hit or two from being killed. Pay to Play: $20 paid at end of 3rd session. Players pay only if they feel satisfied with the adventure . Didn't have fun? You can just say so, and I'll waive any fee. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ The Beginning: The Biting Cold "You and your companions are currently seeking shelter from the bone chilling wind in your rooms at the Broken Bell, the only tavern and inn in the entirety of the village of Willowdale. It's a humble town, with only a few buildings of note. You're to meet with a state-appointed coroner by the name of Oswald, and to assist him in the investigation of the suspicious death of Ser Thames-- a knighted local who's been functioning as the town's sheriff.* You awake in the early hours of the following morning to the sound of a shrill feminine scream-- followed then by another. You leap upright for your blade and throw open the door to see a crowd already growing outside. Bouncing lanterns and torches form as the locals gather, casting slim silhouettes like looming shadows. The winters of Willowdale are piercingly cold. By the time you reach the crowd, your fingers have already numbed. With every breath, you breathe air that is as sharp as needles-- but something else as well. A smell. One you recognize. A coppery-acidic smell--- Blood ." Roll20 Disclaimer: This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $20 after the final session (3 sessions, 4 hours each). Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Payment Method Explained: It is a pay-to-play adventure, totally about 12 hours of in-game roleplay. Because I understand that one-shots or small adventures (3-5) can be either hit or miss for players, I would only ask payment at the end of the 3rd session-- and only if you are completely satisfied, had fun, or feel it is worth the amount paid. If you didn't have fun, or didn't feel that the game deserved it, there will be zero hard feelings and you keep your money. I want to be fairly compensated, but most importantly I want to protect you by ensuring that you have no risk. I've run this multiple times and never had a player who didn't thoroughly enjoy this, but I want to put the power of payment entirely in your hands as a matter of principle and trust.
