Changing Token Size

I need help.

I'm trying to figure out how to make it so when I drag a creature onto the map, a large creature will be placed as a 2x2 size, huge as a 3x3 size and so on without having to resize each token individually. I have been looking all over the forums for this issue but so far I've only seen responses from a year ago that don't work. I've tried having a token occupy a 2x2 grid before assigning it to a sheet and it doesn't work.

The only cause I can see for this is the "Token Size" being a different number for larger monsters but every time I try to change it to a 2 for a large beast, it resets back to 1. The only way I can keep it the number I want is to add the attribute token_size=2 but it still makes a small token on the field.

What am I missing?

I believe the "Token Size" attribute is for a compendium drag. The way to set up a creature or character of your own is to resize it manually, then open the sheet and click the edit button. Delete the default token in the default token field and tell it to use your resized token as the new default. You will then pull this resized token from your journal when dropping a creature. If you do this for a monster dragged from a Compendium, this new default token will even apply to future compendium drops for that game ("All of my goblins are HUGE")

The key is to make sure that setting the default token is the last action you do. It's like saving your work. If you set as default and then resize, Roll20 doesn't care. For example, you might be casting "Enlarge" on a creature. Set up token --> set as default.

Thank you for the guidance! As it helped me figure out what was going on. I was making these tokens for my druid player in one of the dungeon maps. Because the map had a cell width of .5, it was turning my large creatures into medium tokens *facepalm*

I feel so silly now, but thank you!
