Character Sheets Templates

New user here, so not sure if this has been broached before. I've been setting up a test game to have a play before possibly GMing, and one thing I found hard work was setting up a number of pre-generated characters for players to use got kind've repetitive. Having to manually add all the attributes, link them to the bars, etc. Same goes for when players enter their characters - they all have to create the sheet from scratch. Has anyone mentioned having the ability to create basic character sheet "templates" so that at least some attributes, rolls, links, etc can just be "filled in" rather than having to be created manually. It would save time for players and for GMs if pre-generating characters. Pretty sure there would be no issue with having them in the marketplace for a buck or so for each system, although I guess there might be copyright & licensing issues. If so, then maybe a GM could create their own templates and save them as a resource. Maybe the whole journal entry thing could be potentially driven from similar templates for mundane items, magic items, treasures, etc. Or ... I might have missed the fact that there's an easier way to do all this :-)

Paul, you can currently create a single character sheet and then use the 'duplicate' button to make copies of it within the game. Distribute those copies to your players in the game and it will save them a lot of work. You can also duplicate campaigns so if you make a baseline campaign for a specific game system you will only need to do the work once.  Example:  I make a baseline campaign and call it 'Base <insert system name>' Inside the game I then make a character sheet for that <insert system name> system and call it 'Base <insert system name> character sheet'.  When I am ready to begin a new campaign I copy/extend the campaign and rename it '<campaign name>' Then I open the campaign and edit the character sheet. I click duplicate as often as needed.  Finally, I assign player permissions to each character sheet. Oh, and yes, there are probably copyright and licensing issues for Roll20 to sell character sheets. :) - Gauss
Well, the perfect way, would be if what you just said, would be possible to share with the whole community. And TableTop Forge had a great idea on how to implement character sheets, without breaking any copyright. Make it modulebased. I create "level" and move it to the sheet. Then "name" and "weapon" and so on :-) Then you design your own character sheet, and break no rules :-)
