We are thinking about going digital with our games because some of us are working on the road and it is hard to meet up to play. dose everyone need subscriptions or just the DM. players have free accounts then everyone kicks in for the DM to have the best how dose this work?

No one needs a paid subscription unless they are using a mobile device (phones are not very good on Roll20 due to small of a screen size) such as a tablet. If people are going to use a mobile device then only the game's creator needs to be a paid subscriber.
