Make a (completely pointless) feature to "retire dice" when the rolling algorithm is doing you dirty

Yesterday I ran a session in which over the course of two encounters a total of 4 crit failures and 13 critical successes (12 of those were players') were rolled and in total the mobs were able to only hit 3 times. In a IRL tabletop this is when I as a GM would do the completely factual scientifically proven act of retiring my dice to use a different set that won't roll like bipolar garbage. I propose there be some button the dm can trigger that would pop up a small animation of dice being destroyed or burned or what not to signify switching dice. Mechanically this would not change the algorithm or anything, just make players and GMs feel better knowing that the dice will start rolling correctly.

This is such a dumb idea and I love it.
It's a neat trick to let players and GMs bond a bit more over the smallest of things.

This is the best worst idea I've seen in months. +100

I love the idea, I have a dice jail for around the table. But I think its kind of a waste of time for the devs to add something like that in. You could however make this yourself with a simple macro or API.

Macro could have a simple animation play on press and then disappear once completed. I am sure someone with more expertise than I could code that in a matter of an hour.

Good idea, but this method will help in the meantime, try it.

You can make a Dice Jail on your tabletop for now.

You can drag-and-drop a dice from the Chat onto the tabletop.

Drag-and-drop your bad die, onto the dice jail. DONE!

Advanced Techniques for homemade Roll20 dice jail:

(Make the jail a red box, put jail bars if you want --- graphics of such available in Roll20 Marketplace or use gray bars in the game drawing tool).

Require / allow the victim Player to change their dice color (it is the color swatch box beside their display name under avatars usually at the bottom of the screen, change your color and it changes your dice.)

Can hide or show the dice w/ Fog Of War or Dynamic Lighting, as you please. "Go into a dark corner, bad dice."

Honestly this is an amazing idea. Simple to do and implement, and a great thing to add just for simple player satisfaction.

The dice dragged from chat onto the map, can be treated as a TOKEN.

Add the RED X status icon, to cross out the bad dice.
