Map Uploading as Token?

March 30 (5 years ago)

Hi hi, Roll20 Newb here, so apologies for the silly question but - I'm DMing a game and wanted to upload a dungeon to the map. I watched a tutorial, and followed the instructions, but when I upload the file (or click and drag it) it gets added to the game map as a token. Is there a way to add it as a map instead of a token, keeping in mind that I have a free account at the moment.

I don't really mind creating a dungeon in the roll20 map tool, but I would love to use MapTool or something else which I know other folks use, and then just upload the map to roll20.

Any help is super appreciated, and specific instructions as well since I'm very new to the interface. Thanks so much!!

You probably dropped it on the Objects Layer, instead of the Map Layer.  You can right click the "token" and select Layer >> Map Layer to move it to the map, then switch to the Map layer and resize it appropriately.
