Forum Replies Not Appearing

I found a couple posts from 2 and 3 years ago that seemed to be in the same general vein as this post, but they are closed, so I'm reopening the topic. I've found, multiple times, that when I post a reply to a topic, my reply does not appear. It's happened so often I've taken to copying my reply before I hit the "post topic" button. As an example, I have a thread on the macros forum called For Beginners where several people have been kind enough to help out a beginner. My last post on there is the third or fourth iteration of that post because it repeatedly didn't appear. I finally posted (and deleted) a post that just said "TEst" just to make sure i could post at all before trying the last time. Is this a thing anyone else has been experiencing? Thanks!

Your profile says you only made 20 Forum Posts, so that sounds like an oddly high chance of error. (I can't remember that this would have happened to me at all across my use of the forums on Windows/Linux and Firefox/Chrome.) To narrow down the source of the problem, could you description your setup(as asked below), and follow the default troubleshooting steps(below) first, and then answer a few of my questions? Detailed description of the problem (does pressing the "Submit Post"-button refresh the page but your new post doesn't appear? Or is pressing the button sometimes doing nothing, and you need to press it more than once? Is this only with replies, or also when submitting new posts? Have this happened only on the general forums, or also when posting in some campaign's forum as well?) Minimum number of steps to reproduce the problem Bug Report Template : Description of setup Browser + Version Browser Addons/Extensions Operating System Bug Triage Results Please carefully work through to the first three steps of our guide to Solving Technical Issues : Step 1: Make sure to use the right browser Please check if these issues persist when using both Chrome and Firefox. Step 2: Ensure that there are no extensions/addons interfering with Roll20 Please disable all add-ons/extensions. Step 3: Clear your cache If none of the above succeed in resolving the problem, please thoroughly work through Step 4 . (Don't forget the complete Console Log!) Do you have a stable internet connection, or do you at times have interruptions? Could you estimate how many times this have happened to you? Roll20 claims you only made 20 post, so it sounds like the failed posts doesn't increase the counter on your profile. Do you have a link to the old "replies disappearing" thread?

Pressing the "Submit Post"-button refreshes the page but my new post doesn't appear. It has only happened when replying and only in my For Beginners thread because I am brand new to the forums and this is the only other thread I've participated in. It also has not happened since I opened the bug report. Browser: Google Chrome Version 80.0.3987.162 (Official Build) (64-bit) Extensions: Stylus Windows 10 Internet connection is very stable ***This is an interesting number. Assuming that private messages are not included, I have 15 forum posts (including this one) that are visible to me (I deleted my test post, but it's still there to let me know I deleted it). So I guess it's happened 5 times? Oddly, no, I cannot find the post I originally saw. I've found a bunch of others with similar names that all resolved as player issues. I apologize as my search-fu is failing me. I'll keep looking and if I find it, I'll attach a link.
For the record, this JUST happened again in the forum thread  CombatMaster Alpha I wrote a small paragraph post, that included a quote from an earlier post and after hitting submit post, the page refreshed, but my post never appeared. I refreshed the page just to make certain, but it was not there. In frustration, I posted a single sentence immediately after and that post is there. I never lost my internet connection. I was logged in. I never re-logged in.
I can now faithfully reproduce this problem. If I quote information from a previous text using the "Quote" hyperlink, I get the quote. I add my additional text and hit Submit Post and it refreshes to the top of the forum page and my post is never there.
Do you have any Stylus rules affecting roll20.net? If so, have you tried with those rules turned off?
This happened to me twice in the Dynamic Lighting Bug Report thread.  Both times I was trying to quote a previous post.

Just to help narrow down the issue, can you try reproducing the steps on Firefox? It almost certainly has to be something about the way your particular setup is interacting with Roll20 otherwise there would be a flood of angry posts about the issue. Are you on a VPN, or posting from a country with a firewall (ex. China)?

Alright, I just tried it on Firefox by quoting Keith's most recent post and it happened again, exactly as it does in Chrome. The only extensions I have on Chrome are three styles for small macro bar, token bar and tracker respectively. There are no extensions on Firefox. I'm not on a VPN (foolish I know) and I'm in the U.S., at home, with no firewall.

Working without a VPN isn't foolish. I don't use one unless I have a specific need. That's a curious and frustrating bug, though. You'll probably need to go through the guide to  Solving Technical Issues , that Andreas posted, particularly  Step 4 . Don't forget the complete Console Log!  It should be able to tell a dev exactly where things are breaking down.
Excellent, I just attempted it again and got the same bug result. After using the Quote link to quote forum text I hit the "Submit Post"-button which refreshes the page to the top of the page (not the bottom as usually happens when one posts something new) and when I scroll down, my new post is not there.
