Ranger - Human - Coal Blackburn & Cleric – Human Female - Sheila - Jack J.   Whom Could Not Make It Today!   Guardian (Paladin) – Halfling - Rowan  Root  – Nick R.     (Arriving later in April?) | Buddy-D Ranger – Half Elf - Camlin - The Hermit Legend / Freeman3294 Ranger - Human - Coal Blackburn & Cleric – Human Female - Sheila - Shadowfax (Steve)      Warlock (AS&SoH2E) – Human Hermaphrodite -Doña Phicenta Thragiella De Thrul - The Fictionaut | Buddy-D Witch – Human – Cassandra - Phoenix   Game Summary for Sunday Evening (03/29/2020):   It is now 29 days into the adventure (since setting off in the Belle Venture), and August 22nd, 3:45 pm on day 23 on the isle.   Open Scene: The party is in the midst of battle with female Yuan-Ti Abominations (half-human torso with lower snake half), after entering the building they had spotted one enter in the Forbidden City.   Coal had let loose his 3 rd arrow from a previous round of fighting, firing at point blank range with the magical Foeseeker long bow and hitting for 15 damage to Yuan-Ti #09!   Round #04 of Combat!   Rowan, missed Yuan-Ti Abomination #03 with his magical Geldered short sword!   Grax, using his magical Gauntlets of Fencing missed YTA #03, with his Broad sword!   Xilicien, cast the Ray of Enfeeblement spell upon YTA #09, who fails her saving throw vs spells, rolling 2 needing ≥ 11, making her strength score reduce by 33% to 12.7 (13) from 19!   Camlin, fires an arrow with the long bow, at point blank range 6-30ft, hitting YTA #03 for 8 damage!   Yaun-Ti Abomintion #09, strikes Grax for 9 damage with the scimitar!   Balen, missed YTA #09 with his magical +1 Calenyanda long sword!   Sheila, is running away in fear from a YT cause fear spell!   Maevis, hits YTA #03 at short range 6-60 ft, with an arrow from his magical +1 composite long bow for 5 damage!   YTA #03, missed Rowan with her scimitar!   Cassandra, stays put and invisible thanks to her ring of invisibility.   Coal, fires an arrow at point blank range 6-30 ft, at YTA #09 but missed!   Phicenta, missed YTA #03 with the two-handed sword!   No 2 nd or 3 rd attacks used this round.   Round #05 of Combat:   Rowan, hits YTA #03, with the magical Geldered short sword for 10 damage, defeating the Yuan-Ti!   Grax, hits YTA #09 for 6 damage with the broad sword!   Xilicien, cast Melf’s Minute Meteors at YTA #09, the first of 7 meteors causing 2 damage after a failed saving throw vs spells, rolling 6 needing ≥ 11. Remaining Meteors will cause 7,6,5,5,6,7 damage if successful.   Camlin, fires an arrow at YTA #04 but fumbles handling it, causing 16 damage to another nearby Yaun-ti, since no friendlies were near enough to be hit.   YTA #04 missed Grax with the scimitar!   Balen, gets a wild swing at YTA #09, with the +1 Calenyanda long sword, but missed!   Sheila, continues to run away in fear!   Maevis, fires an arrow and missed YTA #04 with the +1 composite long bow!   Cassandra, moves out of the way of Phicenta, so that he/she doesn’t crash into her when moving up to engage in melee!   Coal, fires an arrow with the foeseeker long bow, at PBR 6-30 ft, hitting YTA #09 for 8 damage, defeating the Yuan-Ti!   Phicenta, moves up to YTA #04, swings the two-handed sword and missed!   2 nd Attacks for Round #05:   Maevis, fires an arrow but missed YTA #04!   Grax, hits YTA #04 for 11 damage with the broad sword!
Rowan, fires an arrow at PBR 6-30 ft, hitting YTA #04 for 10 damage!   Coal, fires an arrow at YTA #04 at PBR 6-30ft, hitting for 10 damage!   3 rd Attacks for Round #05:   Coal, fires an arrow at YTA #04 at PBR 6-30ft, hitting for 12 damage and defeating her!   End of Combat!   Three of the Yuan-Ti Abominations remain in magical webbing to either side which are also blocking the doorways of two other buildings, meanwhile one other managed to get out of the webbing moving at half speed and took off somewhere.   The party decides to chase after Sheila, (DM rolled to see which direction she went and it was eastward at the first intersection she came to, after running north between two buildings.   Coal, being a ranger, uses his skills at outdoor tracking with a base 80% chance, rolling a 61%. So in spite of being a cobblestone street, he was able to notice small nuisances of a female in boots running.   The party catches up to her at the end of an avenue which turns into a crude stone path laid out into an area of swampland. The spell fear spell having worn off.   Knowing they have approximately 59 minutes left on the magical webbing ensnaring the possibly suffocating YT Abominations, they hurry back so that Coal can use his magical ring of free action to enter the webbing and finish them off. Nothing of value is found upon them other than scimitars in scabbards.   The group decides to head somewhere else and eventually come to a set of double doors where it smells like a barn and there is another set of double doors south of them but with no thick wooden bar across it like the current one.   Maevis, decides to open the double doors and sees that there are several worgs, some are resting upon beds of straw and they all start barking when they see Maevis in the doorway. They are all unchained. Maevis, quickly closes the doors.   Balen says, “Looks like that building has gone to the dogs. Where to next?”   So they move down to the next set of double doors and with no one else on the avenue, Grax first checks for a trap rolling a 19% needing ≤ 55%, and finds no trap! Then Grax, tries to pick the keyhole lock but fails when he rolls a 69% and needs ≤ 52%   So, Meavis, tries knocking upon the double door and is greeted by a bugbear fellow!   Bugbear says, “Yea, what do you want?”   Maevis says, “We are Trying to find Lady Eesha, is she in there?” Bugbear says, “There are no women here right now, this is a guards barracks. Are you trying to sell something?, Is there a problem?”   Maevis says, “Thanks, you’re a good guard. We are new to the city, trying to find our way around.”   Bugbear says, “So you are lost and need directions?   Maevis, “Yup, If you are so kind? Can you tell us where an important visitor would probably be staying?”   Bugbear says, “That would be none of your business.”   Grax says, “How would you know?, What if it is our business?”   Bugbear says, “Right, I don’t know and for all I know, you could be looking to kill said person.”   Grax says, “Don’t you think if that were the case we’d not merely attack you and be done with it?”   Bugbear says, “ Yes, you could have attacked, or you simply want to maintain a low profile for all I know. If you clowns are merchants the merchants quarters is in the south east quadrant of the town."   Maevis says, “We have an important message and it’s been a long trip, we are just trying to finish our business.”   Grax says, “ What if we are emissaries? "   Balen says, “Says, "Say, you're a guard, right? Can't be paid too well. What if we paid you to be our guide to find our friend.”   Bugbear says, “I have no word of emissaries visiting the Forbidden city."   Grax says, “We're emissaries and that's our clown...", rolling his eyes at Balen.   Bugbear follows to where Grax looked, “How much are you looking to pay?”   Grax shuts up and looks to Maevis.   Balen says, "What if we pay by the block? How far do we have to go? Then we can determine a reasonable fee. Ignore the dwarf, he's always grumpy. Except when he's sleepy or dopey."   Grax, groans and pinches the bridge of his nose....like he has a migraine   Grax says, “Ignore the fool. Maevis here is the one in charge.", elbows Maevis.   Bugbear says, "Look, we are not tour guides for hire here."   Maevis says, "How about a 100 gold? Enough for you to be our tour guide for awhile?"   Bugbear says, “"Hmmm, Maybe I might reconsider. Hold on a minute."   Grax says, "Well that can't be good."   Coal says, “They are going to try and take it, get ready.”
Maevis, starts counting coins. A short time later the bugbear is back at the door.   Balen says, “Ok so you aren't a tour guide. Could you be paid 100 gold to GUARD this grumpy dwarf as he wanders around looking for someone?"   Bugbear says, “We'll take the offer, until we have to go back on duty."   Maevis says, “We have a deal then.”   Grax says, “Tell ya what 10 gold if you can get Balen to shut up."   Balen says, “Truly you are wise indeed!, It must come with the height.”   Bugbear says, “Do you have any enemies here? What are we looking out for?"   Maevis says, “"We don’t believe that we have any enemies we just want to learn our way around this city.”   Grax says, “I'll kneecap ya ya damned court jester."   Balen jumps back away from Grax and says: "So, a straight forward punch from you to my kneecap?"   Grax, just shakes his head.   The bugbear motions for his buddies to come to the door, making it 5 bugbear guards.   Bugbear says, “Now what is it you would like to see?"   Grax says, “Best sleep with both eyes open Balen.", while thinking to himself, wow we actually hired bugbears to escourt us around the city.   Maevis says, “We want to know where the rich and powerful of the city live.”   Bugbear says, “Well to have gotten here you likely passed through the nobles district, just to the south of here. Have you entangled with the Yuan-Ti in the Forbidden City?”   Maevis says, “We have not been entangled with the Yuan-Ti, no, not yet. That’s good to know, we were thinking that most nobles lived in the north part.”   Grax says, "Balen's told some Yuan-ti some bad jokes does that count as entangled with them?"   Ok, to summarize the trip through part of the Forbidden city the party learns:   The city has 4 districts, the slums in the north east quadrant, the temple district in the north west quadrant, the nobles district in the south west quadrant and the market district in the south east quadrant.   They learn the Shire with the 5 towers and full of snakes is a meditation area for the yuan-ti.   Area N3 is an abomination temple and N10 is a warehouse, Area N8 is a temple, where the Wyvern nest sits atop of. The bugbears were then sent on their way as the party contemplated where to go have a look next.   As they were doing that a raiding party is seen to turn a corner north of them a couple blocks away, coming from the east and turning south towards them. The group consisted of four Yuan-Ti halfbreeds, twenty Tasloi,  five bugbears and a giant spider!   The party tries to disperse along other side streets off the avenue and the raiding party just continues on their way down past them.   It is decided to go have a look where they last found Sheila, when she ran off due to a Yuan-Ti’s Cause Fear spell. One noticeable structure is another pyramid similar in style to the one with the wyvern nest upon it (Aztec), only it is glowing a purplish color! The party gets a bad feeling about the place. It is also guarded by mongrelmen.   This brings them to an area at the end of a west to east avenue, wider than most that ends at the swampy beach, of which branch stone paths are laid down to walk through.   But first they decide to have a look at a structure similar in appearance to the yuan-ti abominations abode. They go down a side street to see two double doors and the northmost one is looked at. Maevis, tries knocking but there is no answer. So Maevis tries to open the doors which opens slighty. With no resistance he opens the door just enough to look inside and sees it is a kitchen area with two fire pits with chimneys above them and several tables with various food items and utensils upon them. The fire pits still have hot embers in them.   The party enters the kitchen and proceed to move all the tables in front of the doors on the west, south and east walls. As they are looking for a place to rest. However, it is not long that a yuan-ti attempts to enter the kitchen from the dining area to the east, when he also calls out to his fellows for help to get the door open.   Next thing they know, the yuan-tis are trying to get into the kitchen from every door. The group tries to use their weight to push against the incoming yuan-tis but the yuan-tis were stronger and manage to push the doors inwards enough to get into the kitchen!   Phicenta says, “Y’all can go suck a dill pickle”   Balen , jumps back from one of the doors, pulling the table with him and ducks down under / behind the table   YT half-blood says, “What is the meaning of this?!, Is this some kind of prank?! Speak up fools!”   Grax says, “Smile and wave lads, smile and wave...".   Maevis says, “We thought this place was empty, Can you tell us of some place where we can find shelter for the night?"   YT half-blood says, “So you though it fitting to just waltz right in and enjoy the food?"   Xilicien says, “We neither waltzed or ate.”   YT half-blood says, “This is not an inn, hell the city doesn’t even have one built yet.”   Xilicien says, “Well that would be the problem there.”   YT half-blood says, “Well, you all are going to have to leave.”   Maevis says, not admitting blame or fault "We will leave now and seek another place to stay".   YT half-blood says, “Wise choice my friend, very wise.”   Phicenta says, “I was joking about the pickle, lol.”   Balen, "crab walks" backward without trying to get up until he has put some distance between him and the Half-bloods, heads to the west door to leave with the party.   The party exits the kitchen back outside on the street as the yuan-tis step aside to let them pass, (about 17 of them).   The party heads north a bit and onto the broader avenue that heads either west or east, going east to the end of the street where it turns into a stone path into the swampy beach, they head north a bit when four crocodiles attack the party!   After a wisdom check it is determined that Xilicien and Grax, both glimpsed a huge snake-like creature skim then dive quickly into the lake beyond the swampy beach.   After initiative rolls are made Round 1 of combat begins:   Phicenta cast the Fireball spell for 21 hit points of damage and none of the four crocodiles made their saving throw vs spell, thus taking the full damage and defeating them all!   End of combat!   Some of the crocodile meat is carved up for eating later on.   Up ahead heading north the party spots a large mound completely surrounded by a spiked wooden barricade, with a lone tower sitting atop the mound and at least one Bullywug frog-man keeping watch from it.   The party continues along the path until they reach another cobblestone paved road then see another stone path that goes to the mound and walk down it to see that there is no visible gate. They turn back and continue west until they see a graveyard with a chapel.   Sheila feels a sense of dread when they enter the graveyard and have a look inside the chapel, which has an altar and a few rows of pews.
