How do you have the NPC tokens remember what they Represent?

Hey guys, I've been struggling with this for a while. I've created a NPC sheet for, let's say, a warhorse, and have both the Avatar and the default token from the same source. I have then gone to the table top with the token already selected and I have made sure it represents the one and only Warhorse of the list of NPCs, I've then gone on to place the health and AC in on the first boxs of the red and blue and press 'Save'. Now the problem persists whenever I pull the very same template over to the tabletop and it acts like it was never linked together. Am I missing a step? Could someone explain it to me because I feel lost and would rather not have to go in a token and tell them what they represent every time I place a goblin down.

Make sure you have the token set up the way you need it to be, and the LAST thing you do is edit the character sheet and save it as the default token. That saves those settings values as the default next time you drag out the token with the sheet. https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals
