That sounds like a funky bug! I'm not sure why it's not saving. I remember there were problems like this when they first developed Default Page Settings, but it was thought that all this kind of bugs was fixed. Since I've never (chosen to) used a non-transparent Default Tint, i've not tested this yet. Used to have some problems with Default Page Size Settings not sticking, but that was fixed back then. This does SOUND similar from that time. Hopefully the Roll20 Team will help you test and diagnose and fix this.

just to be absolutely sure, check this one tip -- the Transparent color-swatch can look like a "White". So are you quite sure it is jumping-back to White or Black, and not to the Transparency checkerboard? i'm not on the bug-force of roll20, just trying to provide some feedback until they enter here to officially assist
It was reported last year, but no ETA on a fix: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/7708947/game-default-settings-default-transparent-option-isnt-transparent The only solution is make a new game or a copy of the game and don't set a default token tint color.

Since it is a bug, though, you can also petition the dev team to fix your game. team@roll20.net It may take more time than normal given current events.
Thanks guys
