Character Sheet attack rolls DND 5E

Hello! I am new to Roll 20 and I am trying to figure out if there is something I am missing for attack rolls. I searched the forums, reddit and google but couldn't find anything recent. I have enabled 3D dice and added my attack action to my character sheet. Whenever I click the attack action, it rolls crit dice instead of just the regular dice. I tried zeroing out the crit field for the action but it didn't change anything. I see there is a setting to change the damage die behavior, but the only options are don't roll damage dice at all, or always roll crit damage.  Is there a way to just have it roll the dice as is without always rolling crit? I like the feel of the 3D dice vs just seeing it in chat, but I am even skeptical now if the chat rolls are accurate or not with how the 3D dice rolling is working.
You have to be sure the attack is set up correctly: And that the settings on the character sheet are set correctly as to roll advantage or not and include a damage roll or not: As to not matching.  The dice are the dice.  They don't include modifiers.  If you mouse over the result in chat with your pointer, you'll see how roll 20 arrived at the number presented.
I believe the attack is set up correctly; And I disabled the advantage roll option: Am I missing something?

You do have your sheet set to auto roll damage and crit though.  Also if you leave the crit section empty on the attack it just rolls double dice.  You only need to type in that section if you want something like max plus roll or have  a half orc that gets an extra dice of damage.

Yes I know I have it set to auto roll damage and crit - that was in my first post. The only alternative to that is to not roll damage at all, which only rolls a d20. That is what I am hoping there is an answer to. Is it really created with only those two options? Rolling nothing or rolling the wrong thing most of the time?
Well, if you set it not to auto damage roll, you'd roll your d20.  You'd get a result in chat that includes the name of the weapon, and if it was a hit you'd click the name of the weapon in that chat output and it would roll damage, including crit damage if a 20 had been rolled.
Just to be clear, the crit dice only get rolled in the event that a 20 is rolled on the attack.  If it's set to advantage / disadvantage, then crit dice are rolled if either "to hit' die rolls a natural 20.

One clarification here.  All dice will be rolled up front for whatever settings you have, including critical hit related dice regardless of whether you crit or not.  So you will see the 3D dice for everything all at once, because Roll20 macros don't have conditional logic of "if it is a crit, roll more dice".  The roll template for your character sheet is hiding crit related rolls from printing in chat unless a crit was rolled.  That is one quirk of 3D dice is that they will still show the rolls that are being hidden by the html conditional logic of the roll template. Basically, you are seeing normal behavior.  It just seems strange if you don't know why it is doing that.

Kraynic, I tested this earlier by turning on the 3d dice and turning off all the auto stuff ( adv /  dis and dmg)  I clicked the attack on the character sheet and it prompted me to roll the dice at which time it rolled a d20.  Then I clicked the name of the weapon in chat and it prompted me to roll a dice at which time it rolled the damage without a crit, I assumed because it hadn't rolled a 20 on the attack. So, 1 d20 rolled and 1d8 rolled.

Yes, I was explaining why he was getting that behavior while it was set to auto roll. Edit:  Basically, I'm not contradicting anything you said, but I didn't see an explanation for why the dice work that way and thought it might be helpful.
Ah, okay, just want to be sure that  I'm not giving erroneous information.
For those looking this up in the future: If you have "Auto Roll Damage and Crit" on, it will do just that. Currently, the only other option is to not auto roll damage. The way I have done it is to change this setting to not auto roll damage. It will just roll the d20, and if it hits you can go to the chat window and click on the ability to roll damage. If you crit, it will know to auto roll the extra damage you have specified in the ability. There is not currently a way to auto roll regular damage with the 3D dice.
