How long is LMoP free for?

I'm wondering how long Lost Mines of Phandelver will be free.  If I create a game now, will I have to finish it by a certain time before losing access?
I second this question

Same question. However in another thread, it seems this will only be playable temporarily: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8419403/phandelver-vault-access-removed-from-all-previous-purchases" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/8419403/phandelver-vault-access-removed-from-all-previous-purchases</a> " Turning this free for a limited time was a request from WOTC as part of their COVID-19 response..."

I wasn't able to find an original source, but several articles I saw said Wizards of the Coast made it free until May 5th.&nbsp; YMMV

This is probably a question for WotC.&nbsp; Have they made an announcement with duration? Edit:&nbsp; And The Aaron posted it while I was typing.

They appear to have announced it here;&nbsp; <a href="https://dnd.wizards.com/remote/freematerial" rel="nofollow">https://dnd.wizards.com/remote/freematerial</a>
Maybe I'm being blind, but I can't see a duration in WotC's announcement

Yeah, I haven't found a timeline confirmation, just where they announced the release.&nbsp; I found some third party articles that said May 5th, but they didn't list sources.
DnD Beyond's "Free LMoP" campaign ends on the 5th of May, so that could be the case for Roll20 as well.&nbsp;&nbsp; From their site&nbsp; here : For a limited time, You can try out the&nbsp; Lost Mines of Phandelver&nbsp; for free! You can access it in the top menu by going to the sources page and&nbsp;clicking or tapping&nbsp;on&nbsp; Lost Mines of Phandelver .&nbsp; On May 5th, free access will be removed, so schedule your next game soon!
So I've been toying with purchasing a 5e setup and just spending the time learning it while converting the monster/npc's to 2e stats on the char sheet and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to do just that. While I grabbed it and launched a quick testbed in 5e to see what it looks like, I switched over to my 2e test game, and can't add the module to it. Is that normal that you can't add WotC modules to an existing game, or is this limited due to the temporary lease? I'm glad this popped up now before I paid money for something I can't add to an existing game with all my macros and scripts running smoothly.

You have to add it upon game creation. Someone made a script for moving macros from one game to another&nbsp; here , though. Haven't tested it myself, and it&nbsp; is &nbsp;3 years old at this point. But hey, could be worth a try.

Should still work, be sure you have the linked Base64 script installed. You could also move all your macros to a Macro Character, per&nbsp;<a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5899495/stupid-roll20-tricks-and-some-clever-ones/?pageforid=5899495#post-5899495" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5899495/stupid-roll20-tricks-and-some-clever-ones/?pageforid=5899495#post-5899495</a>

You can't add a Module to an existing game.&nbsp; Modules have to be selected when the game is created.&nbsp; If it was an "Addon", then it could be added onto an existing game.

Also note, you can use the Transmogrifier as a Pro Subscriber to move things from one game to another (pretty much anything except Macros, hence why I wrote that script...&nbsp; =D)

So if you go to the Marketplace it looks like it's free till the 7th of May. <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/module/41/lost-mine-of-phandelver" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/module/41/lost-mine-of-phandelver</a> My question is what happens after the May the 7th? If were 90% of the way through the campaign do we suddenly get locked out after the 7th or are we just not allowed to start a new game after the 7th?

I speculate that you just won't have it as an option for creating new games unless you buy it.

The Aaron &nbsp;said: I speculate that you just won't have it as an option for creating new games unless you buy it. I don't think so. This is on the Fantasy Grounds website: 'This adventure will be free to use from April 7, 2020 through May 7, 2020. If you wish to continue playing this adventure after May 7, you can pick up a copy for your account and continue where you left off. ' Gotta love how they market it as 'pick up a copy' rather than 'if you want to finish playing the module you have to pay us'.&nbsp;

The Aaron said: I speculate that you just won't have it as an option for creating new games unless you buy it. I second that. I think the module acts as a template to create a new game and that's it, so as long as you have created the game before the end date you should be fine to play it for as long as you like. It is speculation though, so we'd need someone to confirm it.
Curses. With so many companies actually giving away free copies of video games during this, I thought Wizards was letting us have the module for free as long as we claimed it. I've got too many campaigns going right now already to make use of this now.
Still no official word on this from the Roll20 team.&nbsp; Would be nice to know how this works for certain.
Same. Would love to know since my group is not the fastest at completing stuff. If it were the case that it was a time limit on how long the content is available to played it feels like it would be very stressy lemon zesty to get the campaign doen quick. Nobody completes a campaign in a month unless they play two games per week, but thats still a big maybe.

This has been answered in several other threads. The game will persist. You can even make copies of it that will persist, in case you want to play it again. You will not be able to create a new game fro it after the deadline, nor will any games you created be eligible for updates or patches.
