Manual Talent Creation

Hello, So I am creating a talent for my character and it has damage progression (1d6, 2d6 (5th), 3d6 (11th), 4d6 (17th)). My character is level 7 so this should be 2d6. However, when I roll, it rolls 4d6 and always uses the lesser damage. Advantage is set to toggle (and at normal) - though it's not an attack roll. Any assistance would be great
Is this not creatable?

What level is the spell set at? Can you show an example of the chat output?
You said talent, not spell?  Why not use the abilities section in the lower right corner of the character sheet page? You cant set it and forget it.  Meaning it will require updating it when the skill changes. Here is an example of "Colossus Slayer" from a hunter in my game:  Your tenacity can wear down the most potent foes. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, the creature takes an extra [[1d8]] (1d8) damage if it’s below its hit point maximum. You can deal this extra damage only once per turn. That [[1d8]] actually rolls the damage into the description in chat.  And, if you click in chat up arrow and copy the text, you can save it to an ability on the character to appear as a token action if you like.

Thanks for the reply all. THis is a 0 level spell (or orison). Similar to eldritch blast which scales with level Spell dmg is supposed to scale by character level 1d6 at lvl 1-4, 2d6 at level 5-10, 3d6 at 11-16 and 4d6 at 17-20

I'm not sure why it's doing that, you're not rolling an attack that can crit, so it's definitely weird. I tried to recreate the spell and it only rolls 2 dice for me. Have you tried remaking it?

I just deleted the power and remade it. Same issue. Would you mind taking a screen shot and pasting what you did? Maybe you had a subtle difference? Thanks! BTW, does Roll20 allow folks to share custom stuff they made? So, has someone created a Mystic (all abilities and powers) and can share this with others?

Sure. I tried to match your first post exactly. Ignore some of the higher rolls I was toggling things on and off trying to reproduce the issue.

Avi said: BTW, does Roll20 allow folks to share custom stuff they made? So, has someone created a Mystic (all abilities and powers) and can share this with others? Sharing of Code, yes. There are many threads dedicated to automation and scripting. Sharing of characters, only via the character vault, which allows players to move complete characters from game to game within the restrictions of subscription level. Sharing of game rules, home brew, etc. Not really. These are deemed to be off topic, since the Roll20 forums are expressly for discussing Roll20 and its systems, not RPGs in general. Sharing of material from printed editions is usually a copyright violation. Note that if someone posted "How can I track Battle Master maneuvers on Roll20" it would be perfectly valid, though the wholesale repetition of all of the maneuvers from the PHB would not. Share the technique and minimize quoting copyrighted material. In general, just use common sense.
@spren - Dratz. Not sure why mine is not working. I wonder if it's a campaign setting but I couldn't see anything. Advantage is set to toggle. @Keith - thank you for the explanation. I was hoping there was a resource of folks who created UA classes, as they won't be in any books or in paid content
I tried creating another test game, and a character with the spell card. Same thing> lvl 1 it rolls 2 dice and picks one. Higher level it rolls double the dice (e.g. lvl 5 rolls 4 dice vs 2 dice) and then takes one of those numbers
