New to Roll20...is it really this wonky?

I'm brand new to R20. Just trying to move a game online. I went through what i thought was some pretty basic setup. 5 basic tokens on a basic map. I'm using the starter adventure, which is free now. So here is one of my many issues. I create a character by clicking on the journal bar and hit the Add button. That seemed to work. I set the permission, size name etc. Everyone has all player permission just to test. I put all 5 tokens on the boards...and go to my other PC and login as a player. first issue, the token now look really small. I guess they shrunk and I can't find a way to size them so the size stays larger. Next the player PC can't move the tokens, even though they have permission and are on the right layer. Next I try as the GM to delete the token and drag it back on the map...it just won't drop on the map. I grab it on the 3 lines to the left of the token, drag, drop...nothing. Then i have try from the player PC. I can't even move the token at all, it just highlights the whole section. Some of the tokens I put down as the GM (Character tokens...the new ones I made), have no names anymore and the Player PC can't move them...Is this just expected wierdness or are there a set of specific rules that apply to player character tokens that need to be followed in a very prescribed way?

The players need view (allows you to see the Bio & Info tab including the portrait) and edit (allows you to access the Character Sheet and Attributes & Abilities tabs) permissions to be able to fully interact with the sheet and the token that is linked to it. You also need to be sure you linked the token to the character sheet in the journal correctly. You need to set up the token as needed including the character sheet it represents before you edit the sheet to set the default token. When you set the default token, it saves that snapshot of the token settings, and will always default to those settings when dragged out to the map. Speaking of dragging out to the map, the 3 bars when you hover over a character sheet name are for reordering them in the journal (drag vertically). You need to drag the name to the tabletop to drop it on the map. If you are having trouble with something, you might want to look it up to see if you are going about it correctly. Roll20 has a lot of moving parts and has a definite learning curve. https://wiki.roll20.net/Main_Page

short answer, yes, most or all of those are wonky widget bits that once you get it, you'll know. Parts of learning curve. U can do what u want on all those but in some cases you just dont know the controls, config, settings, or button to look for yet. Take your time

It might be worthwhile to go through some orientation videos. Don't use the tutorial, it is very old and out of date. At some point it will break. My suggestion is to check out the Roll20 Crash Course on Youtube, or my own video, Starting from Scratch .
