Saturday (04/11/2020): Opening Scene: Day 13:
May 13 th ; 11:00 pm The adventurers, had
helped Alfonse ‘Big Al’ Kalazorn to bury the farm-hands and set up a pyre for
the dead orcs. The group stays overnight in Big Al’s house, before setting off
to find his cattle and horses. It takes the party
two hours to locate the three horses and another hour to find the cow Petunia
and her mate. Willie used his
Animal handling skill for the horses and was able to get all three. For the Cows Willie
was used his animal handling and was able to get Petunia the cow, while Flint
got her mate. When the party
returns 3 hours later with the animals, Big Al is ever grateful, especially now
that he can continue to make his famous Butter Skulls. So he, as promised gives
the party a suit of magical mithral chain mail (+1), which helps the wearer
dodge blows. Mithral is a light,
flexible metal. A mithral chain shirt or breastplate can be worn under normal
clothes. If the armor normally imposes disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth)
checks or has a Strength requirement, the mithral version of the armor doesn’t. It is Roqar the
half-elf roque, that puts on the armor under her clothing. Alfonse
Kalazorn the Retired Sheriff Says: "If you are heading back to Conyberry, tell them I am
alright now, and that I will need some volunteers to rebuild the barn and
smithy as soon as possible." Flint Frostbeard: says, “Anytime. But, keep a sharp eye in case trouble arises
again, perhaps, buy guards or something?" Alfonse
Kalazorn the Retired Sheriff Says: "The help you send will be the guards." So, after a decent
breakfast and some house cleaning to assist Big Al, including boarding up the
broken window, the party makes the seven mile trip back west to Conyberry on
the Triboar trail. Once they arrive to
the village, they head to the Fewmets Inn, owned by twin brothers Bob and Zack
Zeissin. In spite of the booze being somewhat bland, the food is decent there. Several members of
the party decide to part ways with the group, with Ravoprax, giving the Talon
long sword that was found under Tresendar manor, to the party. It is thought to
have magical properties but no one has tried to detect magic upon it or
identify it. Keziah Dankill the
hill dwarf cleric, Kaiser Starlocke the high elf wizard and Flint Frostbeard
the mountain dwarf fighter also depart the party. Bob
Zeissin the InnKeeper Says: "We belive a lot of the Orcs are camping down at the
old Savras shrine about five miles south and some reports say they are also
hiding near the base of Wyvern Tor about 30 miles from here. A Group did go
sniffing around wyvern Tor, lead by some Paladin fellow but they have not been
heard from or seen in a long while now" The party meets Xar’Tharkas
the half-orc fighter and Prayn Vigim the Asimar warlock at the inn and they
join the party to go look for the orcs that are raiding the Triboar trail and
Conyberry. Lead by Sildar
Hallwinter, a fighter fellow whom they rescued from the Cragmaw Goblin tribe,
they head south following along a dirt trail that is know to lead to the Shrine
of Savran. Finally, just before they reach the edges of the woods, they spot
the ruined shrine in the distance in the middle of a flat plain of land that
surrounds it. Area Description: A ruin stands in the
middle of a vast field north of the rocky foothills of the Sword Mountains. An
old stone temple with a belfry jutting from its peaked roof is enclosed by
stone walls, many sections of which have collapsed. The trail ends at a
crumbling gatehouse, the doors to which were sundered long ago. Three of the
four towers that once stood at the corners of the outer walls have collapsed.
Only the northeast tower remains, and a guard stands atop it. Prayn does a
religion check to see if he knows anything about the shrine and the roll of 15
indicates he knows it is dedicated to the god of divination and fate, known as
Savran. Sildar
Hallwinter the Fighter Says, “ Many years ago, the
shrine’s priest-seers foresaw a barbarian attack on Conyberry, giving the
townsfolk time to escape. Not all the townsfolk chose to flee, but those who
did went to the shrine and brought much of the town’s gold with them. The barbarians eventually
tracked the townsfolk to the shrine, besieged it, and slaughtered everyone
inside.” Xar’Tharkas whom is
half-orc and Prayn, who disguises himself as an orc, decide to simply casually
walk up to the shrine alone, in spite of the visible guard in the lone standing
tower. Xar’Tharkas, knowing how to
speak Orcish, hears the guard in the tower shout down, about their arrival, "Company Approaches, Company Approaches
from the north, heading to the front gate." Xar'Tharkas
the Half-Orc Fighter Translates under his breath , says: "They’re gonna get hostile fast." Prayn
the Aasimar Warlock Says: "a-ah! yes, okay" Says: "ahem yells* "We seek to join your
ranks for the glory of Gruumsh!"" Xar'Tharkas
the Half-Orc Fighter Says: "Shouts we come to join your Clan we are the only
servers of are own band " Orc
#01 the Fighter Says: "seeing Xar, says in orcish, "Ah Looks like we
have Vistors, We don't get many, what do you want?" Prayn Vigim: "There
is a town ripe of gold and women just due northeast of here! If we join you, we
may tell you all the secrets of their defenses!" Orc
#01 the Fighter Says: "So you wish to join us, there is nothign fancy here.
We were chased away by a white dragon from our home."
Says: "Since we need food and supplies, perhaps we will let
you in and see what you have to offer."
