Why cannot I find a simple guide to the drawing tool

I am trying to draw simple maps, and cannot find anywhere how I stop drawing and can now just add objects. All that happens is that I add the object than draw over it when I try to resize it. I know it can be done (I have done it), but have no idea how. Nor can I find a simple guide to how to use the map tool. I can find guides how to draw maps, using other software. Not how yo use d20's own software.

If you are using the line drawing tool you right click to confirm a drawing and 'exit' the tool until you next left click, alternatively, changing to any other tool (such as the select tool) will also cement your drawings.
Well I tried that, drew a line, right click (got up a small menu) dragged an object and it still wanted to draw the line when I clicked on the object to resize it. However selecting the select tool did seem to do it. I have to say it would be much easier to just have a "stop drawing" button.

Simpler than right-clicking or changing tool? If that isn't working for you then there is possibly something interfering at your end, you might want to run through the triage steps to identify potential local issues.
