Performance at an all time low

Hi, Since the worldwide COVID-19 crisis I've noticed a drastic drop in performance, with connection to the server being lost several times an hour. I understand this is certainly because of the increased strain on the servers due to more and more people staying at home and playing roll20. Are there any plans to expand your servers to allow for the increase in users? Currently, I can't upload even small images (around 600kb) without it taking about 30 minutes and I'm really worried that my game, which is all I've had to look forward to in months is going to be ruined by constant server interruptions. I'd also like to say that I completely understand that this global pandemic is affecting everyone across the globe so I am not expecting a miracle, I'm just asking. Thanks and stay safe everyone.

I'm having the same experience Cullen, but, I'm okay with it knowing that this many people are playing (or are willing to play) table-top RPGs any way they can get them. It's an amazing thing to have a fantasy escape right now, and even with the performance problems, I know that every game we run is another day of quarantine that we can look back on and say "that time was hard, but we had our games and we had each other, and we were all okay." I bet they are working right now at trying to figure out how to support the load and scale in a way that they may have to scale back after the demand subsides when the pandemic ends. Take care my friend, be safe and I bet we see some performance improvements coming soon.

Well, guys, in my opinion, if they don't get a handle on the issues they have introduced with this new UDL, they aren't going to have to worry about the load because alot of people, me included, will be going elsewhere.  FG Unity is starting to look pretty good.  Just gotta figure out how to move my games from Roll20 to their site painlessly.
Last session the only player never complaining about bad performance suddenly stated: "Oh, now I see what you're talking about!" Guess this indicates it's gotten worse.

There have been a great number of posts from the team concerning the increase in server load and their attempts to meet the demand. This huge influx of new players also means a huge influx in other needs. For example, emails that Roll20 staff must handle have increased 5-10 fold. Some staff are out sick. It's a big change that everyone (in the world) is taking steps to adapt to.
Ye but tons of new players should bring a lot of new income i hope its gona be reinvest to get us more (or beter) servers becouse its start to be rly bad! for some ppl almost unplayable ....

We can only hope. But it won't be an overnight change. And if the new folks disappear once social distancing ends there will be leftover bills to pay. I don't envy decisions being made by any business right now.
