Advanced token settings are not getting saved

I open the token settings. I toggle "See" and set visibility of the name and the bars to "visible to everyone". I click "Save changes". But when I recreate the token by dragging the journal entry on the map, contrary to the other changes I make, this one actually doesn't get saved.

When you edit the character sheet and set a token as the default, it saves the token settings as they are at that exact moment.  Any token settings changed after that time are only specific to that "instance" of the token.  Make sure you have all the base settings of the token adjusted to what you desire as default before saving it as the default on the sheet.
