Spells are rolling twice as many dice as they should

I'm new to roll20 DMing so forgive me if this is a simple problem, but my 1st-level spellcasters built using the essentials kit are all rerolling their dice on spells. For instance, 1st level cure light wounds should be rolling 1d8, it's rolling 2 and keeping the high. The same thing is happening for other spells like burning hands etc. Is there some setting I've checked accidentally? I can't seem to find anything to disable this.
Hello lordyod, First question, to get the easiest potential solution out of the way:  Have the players toggled on Advantage on their character sheets?  At the top of the character sheet itself, they should see options for Advantage, Normal, and Disadvantage, and rolls will automatically follow whichever setting is chosen. Let us know if they're still having the problem or if you have any questions.
Hi! I have advantage toggled on, sure, but that should only double the d20 roll, right? I tried disabling this option in the character sheet and there was no change - level 1 burning hands still shows 6d6 rolled on screen.
How are you determining that the spells are rolling 2 dice and keeping high rolls? Is this just from the 3d dice or are you looking at the spells formula from the chat? Can you possibly post a screen shot? You can check to see the formula that are being rolled inside the spells. Hover over the spell and click on the information symbol to the right of the spells name, then click on the setting cog in the similar location. Look at the spells damage, if you are seeing 1d8 then it is the correct formula. However some spells have special formulas that make them roll correctly at higher levels. This creates an interaction with the 3d dice that does not show the correct dice being rolled. In no way would advantage effect damage rolls.

So you're saying this is probably an artifact of how these spells interact with the 3d dice, and isn't actually rerolling stuff? If so that's fine. The formula posted in chat is correct which is why it's confusing.

This is perfectly normal behavior. The dice roller does not know if you will crit in advance. It must roll all dice that  might  be needed. Roll templates are capable of hiding the dice that were not needed, but they are still rolled. 3D dice do not have this capability. They are just a physics engine. They will always show all the dice rolled, regardless of if they were needed.
Enabling 3D Dice is another option (pop-out windows is the other) in the game settings that needs a note attached to it giving some warning/explanation to users.

No argument here. It would save a lot of typing explanations on the forums! :D
Oh gosh I was so confused. Thanks for clarifying!
