Getting initiatives into Turn Order using CombatTracker

April 19 (5 years ago)

I'm new to API and am trying to use CombatTracker for initiative. My understanding is that it should roll initiatives for each token I select by calling initiative_bonus on the character sheet. How do I get it to do this? Whenever I right-click a token and Add Turn, it gives an initiative of 0, so it does not seem to be using the character sheet. Thanks!

Just select the token and roll Initiative from the character sheet.  If you use the add turn you will need to input the roll manually.

Thanks! I was under the impression that you could get it to roll without opening the character sheet. Or is that something else?

You should be able to change that behavior in the config. But my advice would be to use Combat Master, the successor to Combat Tracker.

I also advise combat master.  I draw a big square around the combatants and hit the start combat button and it rolls for everyone, puts them in order and starts calling out turns in chat and with an indicator on the VTT for the "at bat" and "on deck" positions!

Thanks for the advice on Combat Master. I switched to that, and it works great!
