Map and tokens keep freezing/not updating but chat and rolls work

So this is a weird bug, I've been using roll20 as a GM and player with no issues in the past, but the last couple of sessions I have been getting a bug where I will try to do something like ping the map, add a drawing, zoom out or update a token's hp and nothing happens. It's as if the whole map and all tokens are not updating on my end, but my players DO see it happen. The bug is fixed by refreshing the page, and then I will see the updates, e.g. now suddenly there are 5 boxes where I kept trying to draw one. Unfortunately, refreshing doesn't seem to solve it for long. In my session yesterday I was refreshing more than once a minute to keep updating the page manually. The strange thing is that it doesn't seem to be a connection issue, because making rolls from character sheets works fine and I see chat updates in real time. I have tried using both Chrome and Firefox and both have the exact same issue. I have also tried restarting both the browsers and my computer, as well as clearing my cache, with no luck. This issue has started recently and I haven't added any new extensions or changed any settings that I can think of that could be causing it. I found this previous forum post that sounded like the same issue but never seemed to have actually been resolved, so would love a solution for this! It's become incredibly tedious for me to try to DM a session like this. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5069851/chrome-not-updating-map-slash-game
I've been having the same issue. With mine I found that it is linked to the new lighting. When I disable the new lighting for the map and refresh the issues go away. As soon as I re-enable the lighting, the issues return. I've since gone back to the old lighting for maps as it works without causing multiple issues.
Hm interesting! I don't use lighting so don't think that's the cause for me... Also interesting that the other thread I linked with a similar sounding issue was related to browser (switching from chrome to firefox solved it in their case, but for me didn't fix anything). Might be an issue with multiple possible causes?
I had the same problem last night, though I thought it was due to my dodgy internet connection. Rebooting my router seemed to fix it, but could have been coincidence.
Thanks for replying Alan, I'll give that a try next time, worth a go at least!
