Why is the character name required when calling the max value of an attribute in an ability when the current value can be called implicitly?

When writing an ability in a character sheet, you can call an attribute simply by typing @{AttributeName}, as opposed to the usual @{CharacterName|AttributeName} a macro would require. However, if you want to call the max value of an attribute from an ability, you are required to use the full @{CharacterName|AttributeName|max} (or alternatively @{selected|AttributeName|max}) instead of being able to make the same implicit call and simply use @{AttributeName|max} This is simple enough to work around (as shown by the fact you can simply use @{selected|...} and most abilities end up being token actions anyway, in my experience at least), but I found it strange that there is an implicit character name call for getting the current attribute value, but not the max. (not really sure whether this belongs in this forum or in the character sheets forum, but since it's about a specific quirk about the character features and mostly seeking to satisfy my own curiosity this might be the more appropriate place)

Because it can't tell the difference between a Character named "AttributeName" and an attribute named "AttributeName".  @{Dirk|max} Is that the Attribute Dirk's Max field, or the Dirk Character's Attribute Max? There is no ambiguity in parsing a bare name: @{Dirk} This can only be an Attribute name when seen in an Ability, and can only be the current Character's Attribute.
