[LF?] [5E] Gauging Interest: Ruins of Adventure

A great evil force descended on the town of Phlan years ago. The townspeople were all either killed or driven away, and Phlan became (literally) a ghost town. Fifty years later, the survivors are ready to reclaim their town. But they need a band of strong and brave adventurers to lead the fight—they need you. Nothing's set in stone, but I'd like to gauge interest in doing a 5E update of the original  long-form adventure path, Ruins of Adventure  for 1E AD&D. This one's been one of my favorites for literally decades, and the last time I ran it, it ended up turning into a campaign that was way  too much fun (and ran for about a decade). What I'm envisioning is basically a shot-for-shot remake; the original is pretty heavy on combat (as many premade adventures were back in the day) but leaves plenty of room for RP, as well as some creative puzzle-solving and, of course, plenty of exploration. There would be some general guidelines, of course: Players' Handbook races and classes only. Half the shit in the current PHb  didn't even exist when this adventure was written, and I just don't feel like dealing with eight thousand different "optional this" and "variant that." Note also that I don't subscribe to D&D Beyond. Forgotten Realms 1E . If you don't know, bone up. It's not hard. Anyone who comes to me and tells me they want to play a cleric of Pelor has obviously not boned up, and will be gently corrected (or, failing that, be reminded that there are a lot of games out there that would allow for a cleric of Pelor, and this ain't one of them). This would be a finite game, and once Phlan was freed from the influence of evil, we'd all shake hands, tell one another "job well done," and go our separate ways. D&D is a good game, but it's not the only game out there, and it's certainly not the only game I want to run, and unless you're into sticking around and waiting for it to get weird ( Noumenon , anyone?), this is a one-and-done short campaign situation. If all of this has put you off... too bad. If not, and you're into the idea of just playing some D&D without all the bells and whistles and blood rangers and lycanthrope high priests and fuckin' outre pointlessness that the modern game has bred, let us know. EDIT: Because apparently it has to be spelled out these days, this would be a free game.
Absolutely interested. Read the guidelines. Would probably stick around for things to get weird.
This is really intriguing. Sounds like a lot of fun. I didn't play original 1E (a little before my time, I started in the late 90s) but it really did have some great modules. I'd be very interested in playing a game like this if it were to happen.
