14 on a d4...?

When rolling 16+d4's, I'm consistently getting numbers higher than 4.
Any chance you made them explode?  I just tried it for several rolls and all results were between 1 and 4

I think the OP means they rolled 16 or more individual d4's and got numbers higher than 4... my guess would be Patrick has nailed it and that the OP is rolling with one or more exclamation points to accentuate a roll and thereby triggering the explosion mechanic .

Yup, sounds like you are putting a '!' suffix on your rolls for accentuation, that will cause the dice to 'explode' on the roll of a 4. If your roll doesn't look like: /r 14d4! or /r 16d4!! then I'd urge you to run through the tech help steps in full as there is likely something at play that is affecting the dice roller (which is one of the most robust and reliable features of Roll20).
