Token default settings not updating

I updated the default token settings for player permissions, specifically for the "See/Edit" options for the tokens. The original default is everything is set to players can edit, but not see the bars. I changed the default so players can see, but not edit the tokens. However, when I create new tokens, they still are set to the original settings. I have tried logging in and out again, making brand new maps, and nothing is working.

Some other settings are saving, such as changing fog of war to be on by default, so it's clearly not an issue of not saving the settings properly. And when I go back and check the default settings, they show as still being set to what I changed them to. They're just not actually showing up on new tokens I make.

I am also running into this same issue.

Same, none of the changes I make in the Game Settings for token defaults are working, though in my case I had it set to show nameplates and for players to have see permissions for names before, but now it appears to be just ignoring that setting.

Sounds like you are changing token settings after setting the default token on the sheet.  Whatever you save on the sheet as "Default" is exactly the default token that gets dragged out fresh, complete with all the settings as they were when set as "Default".  If you change token settings and want the settings to be the default (instead of just being somethings specific for a certain map), then you need to edit the sheet again, delete the old default token, and add the new set up as default.

Are you talking about a single token’s default? Or, the campaign token defaults.  If the latter, you need to go to the settings tab in game and scroll to the bottom to the apply defaults button.  There will be a pop up after that.  Check the boxes for all of the changes you want to apply and execute.  It takes a few minutes, based on the size of your campaign.

I am having the same issue. None of the setting, ie Controlled by, Name, Nameplates, Tint Color, save when I click 'Save Changes'.

If I refresh the page after saving the changes the token is still there but all the settings are reset back to default.

Before anyone mentions the wiki and the token steps, I have followed through them about 15 times and it seems to be an issue with Roll20 accepting the 'Save Changes' button.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

yes , i mentioned something similar a few days ago , i did find that if i took the character out of a folder i had made for all my characters and put this in the root then sometimes the settings would change to what i required

These are the setting that I and I'm pretty sure Kayla are talking about. Whenever I drag an image out of the library or a character out of the journal the show nameplate and player permission see name are both unchecked despite having that set in my game default settings. I noticed it when I started preparing encounters for this weeks session over the weekend, but since we had to skip last week this could have started up to two weeks prior.
