2 DMs on same account GM whisper issue

After running a campaign for a couple years with my group, one of the players decided to try out DMing.  I gave him GM permission in my account and am in his game as a player.  One of the issues we are finding is that when I make any sort of roll in his game, it is a whisper to the GM only, and I cant change it, probably because the game thinks Im still a GM.  Its driving us nuts, as the other players never know when I roll.  We cant seem to find a solution to this, tho it might just be checking a proper box (we hope).  Any advice?  And no, we dont want to have him make another account, as he would lose all the books I have purchased. A secondary issue we are finding is that whenever I log into his game, I always start out as GM, and placed on the current game map, which means I see EVERYTHING.  I can switch back in as player, but its hella annoying.  I have a feeling this one doesnt have a solution...

Your secondary concern has an easy solution.  Right click on the "Rejoin as Player" button, copy the url, and make that a bookmark.  You can now enter as a player without passing through as GM first. I'm not sure on the other.  I haven't played in a game with someone else promoted to GM, so I have always thought that when you were logged in as a player, you didn't get the gm whispers.  Hopefully someone who has will have an answer for that.

If you made the person a Co-GM (not share your account) in your game and you rejoined as a player in that game, the GM whisper should only go to him and not you. If he is using your actual account, that is actually against the TOS of Roll20 (just saying) and opens you to someone possibly getting access to your personal info (credit card info and such). To change the rolls from whispering always to not whisper, it is in the sheet settings, or you can change the game defaults (game setting page outside the game) then go inside the game to the setting tab and scroll towards the bottom and click on apply default settings. To enter a game as a player, you right-click and copy the link from the rejoin as a player then make it a bookmark. This lets you enter as a player.

Im not sure what you are saying.  I promoted a player in my game to GM so he can run some sessions.  I dont see anywhere that this is against TOS? ON the contrary I see dozens of posts talking about this very thing, with no mention of breaking TOS.

He is talking about sharing the account.  That is a different thing than promoting someone to GM.  I assumed that was a typo or something, because I've never tried to be logged into a game multiple times with the same login, and assumed it wouldn't work, or would have some really strange quirks.  If you are on the same account, then that probably explains why you both get the whispers.

I was talking about you giving the person your log in information and allowing them to use your account. That is why I mentioned about the TOS and private information. If you did not do that then ignore that comment I made about it.

As a workaround, you can create a separate profile and join the game with that profile. If there are problems with whispers in the game, I would recommend looking in the game settings for the whisper-options.
