Hello, I'm looking for a player to join an in-progress homebrew campaign I'm running for some friends. So far, only 2 sessions have been played, so there is little issue introducing a new PC into the group. Some basic details about the campaign: The setting is my own creation, with a unique pantheon and lore, which I am always adding onto. I am a hard, but fair DM. There will be dangerous traps, NPCs are intelligent, monsters will actively be trying to kill you, and PC death is very much a possibility. I like to use dice for many situations. This means that during an adventuring day, depending on environment, you could encounter anything from a single baby bear to a gorgon. Retreat is a completely valid option. As well, treasure and loot will also be semi-randomized, so you are not guaranteed to find specific magic items in a dragon horde. I roll openly for combat and most situations. The setting is fantasy, with high magic and liberal touches of steampunk and some minor sci-fi. Simple guns are rare, but possible to attain. Roleplaying your character is expected and awarded. Backstories will also be used, and I'm always open to ideas for character development. I will work with as much as you choose to give me. The campaign is open and sandbox-y. I'm aiming to provide a mix of RP and combat, and I will provide plot points and potential quests, but it is up to the group if you wish to engage with them. You want to start a tavern or hunt down ancient relics, go for it. Type my name at the end of your app so I know you read the wall of text. I like to homebrew and modify, so you could encounter monsters you've never seen before, or ones that could be a bit different than normal. Race and Class can only be chosen from the PHB and XGE, except for Tieflings, who can choose from the various tiefling subraces in Volo's. Stats can be rolled for, or chosen via the standard array or point buy. You will start at level 2. I allow evil alignments, but your character is expected to work with the party.
