First off, Roll20 is awesome. We all know that. It's been especially awesome during this pandemic for many people around the world...we all know that too. In light of this awesomeness, my friends and I have been playing a lot more frequently. And we've noticed that during the evenings (from 9PM - 1-2AM EST at least) there are a lot of intermittent slowness and connection issues on any given day of the week. Sometimes you time out and have to refresh the page, sometimes your dice rolls don't make it from your broken out character sheet into the game and sometimes you can't even log in without waiting for a few minutes, then refreshing (which I know is bad form as the old connection is probably still hanging out there). TL;DR presumably there are some server issues due to load. Perhaps those have been cleared up since we played on Saturday...perhaps not. If not, I'd love to hear from the Roll20 team what the plan to address this is? I'd like to think that regardless of the pandemic, all of the new people introduced to gaming (and Roll20 of course) will keep playing the game, albeit potentially not as often once things go back to "normal". Are you guys standing up new servers? Putting in more load balancers? Switching to a different hosting platform and/or diversifying your hosts? What type of tools do you use to monitor your server and website load? I have a lot of experience in this realm professionally, so while I'm asking first as a gamer eager to get the most out of Roll20, I'm also asking as someone who may be able to provide some assistance if you need it.
