496 - Taron puts Balen on his arse

Taron and Balen's Training session (( Sir Balen appears as RossM )) Round 1 Ross M: ((Defensive)) Balen vs 19 rolling d20 (15) =15 Sir Taron : Exchange blows rolling d20(11) =11 Ross M: Sir Taron, make your move. Balen flexes the unfamiliar spear in his hand. (Easier if we take turns declaring first.) (( GM Note, you can message just me using /w gm [message] to quickly declare in secret, and if your opponant changes their declaration, and I'm not live, I'll bust them later ;) )) Round 2 Sir Taron : Ok - well you said make your move so Taron will attack full bore! Ross M: Balen raises his shield high to take the first blow. (Defensive) Spear +10 vs 26 rolling d20 (18)=18 Sir Taron : Mace 5 Rolled 17 Threshold Success Ross M: (ooh tick to spear) Balen rides the blow. (Crit vs success) Ross M: Balen, straightens himself up, ready to exchange blows.... "It troubles me Taron to be picked to head into the Saxon lands. I am an unsubtle man..." Sir Taron : "I fear I am too, Sir Balen." Taron will attack again (Exchange blows) Ross M: rolling d20 (20)=20 Balen rolling vs 16 Fumble! Sir Taron : Mace 3 Rolled 17 Threshold Success (does that break your spear?) Ross M:It does! roll your damage! Sir Taron : damage 17 Rolled So 9 damage Ross M: (NIce! I think we said the padding we were for training reduces damage by 1, still that's 8) Sir Taron : (does damage in this manner carry on the same as wounds in battle??) Ross M: Balen is knocked to the ground, even with the padding, the force of the mace splits his spear and you hear a crack of his forearm.) Lying in the dirt he roars a tremendous laugh. "Now do you see why I need the practice!" Taron is victorious! (Now would be a great time to try a first aid roll! Damage does work exactly like in combat, but by the time we arrive at the saxon stronghold it will probably all be healed.) Sir Taron : Taron rushes over to Balen. "It was a lucky blow - and I'm sorry about the spear. I fear that might be a break - let me see if I can help before we look to the manor's Chirurgeon." first aid 3 Rolled 10 Threshold Success Sir Taron : rolling 1d6(3)=3 So two points healed Ross M: Balen inspects the binding. "A good battlefield dressing. Luckily I try and have all my mishaps on the training ground." Ross M: As the duel finished quickly I assume the knights spend some time drilling, shall we say Balen instructs Taron on the finer skills of swordmanship. (Hopefully WIll can give a training tick?) Or we can drill with our preferred weapons? Suggest a mace tick. Balen would like to get some basic instruction. Sir Taron : Maybe we can exchange. Ross M: A fine plan! The two knights exchange expertise. (Anything else we wish to discuss?) Balen looks at the young knight. He finds it strange to duel someone more impetuous than himself. Sir Taron : "I do not trust these Saxons, as i know you do not. They killed our Lord and, while they say they did not take part in the battle, I'm sure they are delighted by the result" "And yet... they have given us no reason to fear this visit. Mayhap they will accept their kingdom and remain in their boundaries?" Ross M: "A hunter always tries to strike at those who feel safe." Perhaps my suspicious nature warrants my inclusion? Sir Taron : "And perhaps it was my trusting nature that warrants mine! Although it is sorely tested by the Saxons, I confess" Ross M: "Taron, we really need to get you a suit of Owain's reinfroced armour. I think together we could be unstoppable. Let us keep our eyes open for ways to get the funds. Normally I've just captured a saxon king, but there seem to be more of them of late... Balen winces at his wrist. Perhaps I am too suspicious. It is good to have a balanced approach. Not that I would ever call myself unbalanced... (Says the knight sitting on the floor.) Balen returns to the drilling with SIr Taron, although only one handed until the wrist stiffens....
Can we rename this 'Taron puts Balen on his ass?'  :)
Yep :)
Yay!!
not arse?
I was assuming a pack animal you owned dived to save you.
Yes, i would normally say arse - I don't know why I said ass!
