Hours lost to Audio & Video issues

I want to like this website. I devoted days to learning how to create campaigns, maps, characters, NPCs, etc.... But in my last few sessions we have lost at least an hour just trying to get the audio and video working. It's so painful. I probably should have quit you already but I want to like this site, what it offers, and I've invested so much time already. I don't know if I can keep it up. I've read there are alternatives. Is there an easy way to figure out why I can see some people but not hear them, while at the same time they can see and hear everyone, and others can see and hear them but not me? It's a mess. And that's putting it nicely.
As a workaround, you could use discord for communications, it's free. My group switched to it after about 2 sessions since the native a/v communication was a bit iffy.
Thanks, I'll look into it. I also found out in a game I run for kids that one of the parents has a paid zoom account. I'll probably give that a go first. I feel like it's going to be annoying to have the video up and messing w/ the map. I may try it. But definitely seems easier to ditch this website and go old school.

I game on Roll20 on a weekly basis. I don't use the built-in video if I have more than 4 people connected (including myself). I use Skype or Discord.
