An indeterminate time passes in darkness and silence. You have no thoughts, no memory, only existence without purpose or direction. Until...as if from far away, you hear the sound of falling water and feel a whisper of wind. Slowly the sound grows louder, until suddenly the darkness clears and you once again see the cavern where you died. Your viewpoint hovers in midair above the pool, and you can see the entire cavern, but you hear only the falling water. There are many elves in armor moving throughout the cavern. They have the bearing of soldiers, and some are assisting maltreated elves in tattered clothing toward the entrance. You recognize some of these as your unwilling killers. Standing near the pool is the elven King Melandrach, who you remember from the Council, holding a journal and exhibiting an expression of cold fury. But all this passes by in an instant, as your attention moves to the bluff to the southwest. Beyond the trophy display of your belongings, your mangled body has been taken down off the wall and laid on the stone floor. Next to it is an ancient shrine, in the corner beyond the wall where you were killed. The old druid who you met in the forest kneels by the shrine, which shows a young human woman holding a basin. Water flows from cracks in the ceiling and onto the statue's head, running down into the basin. Over the falling water, you hear the druid speak. "Eldath, Mother of the Waters, hear my plea. Have mercy on this fallen warrior. Return them to this world, for their task is not yet done." She lays her hand on your corpse, and the entire body shimmers and flows like water. Your viewpoint swoops down and lands behind the still-indistinct eyes... Each member of the party experiences their reincarnation differently! When their body settles into a final shape, it is not the one they had before: Induris - was male Wood Elf, now female Deep Gnome The monk - was male Kenku, now male Dragonborn Bron - was male Goliath, now male Tiefling Shazz'm - was male Human, now female Dwarf George - was male Half-elf, now male Kenku You are weak and shaky after your revival, and happy to travel with the elven army at an easy pace as they return home. Your memories and skills return, but fitting them to your new body takes time. You are happy to have a few days of travel in safety so you can acclimate to your new reality. Along the way, you are able to speak with some of the soldiers to piece together what happened. After you did not return, the druids of the Emerald Enclave came to King Melandrach, informing him of where you were last seen and their suspicions that the dragon's lair was in that area. The king gathered his forces and descended on the lair, driving the dragon and his allies from the area, though not without grievous losses. In the aftermath, they discovered your bodies and were prepared to bury you with honor, but the old druid you helped in the forest instead called on her goddess to reincarnate you. It was also discovered that the green dragonspeaker is Neronvain, estranged and exiled son of King Melandrach. Both he and Chuth escaped, and took the green dragon mask. The king's anger is overwhelming, and the soldiers expect that they will be fighting many more battles against the cult. When the journey ends, you feel much recovered. This is excellent timing, because waiting for you is Jardeth, the servant of Chelnadatilar.
