Date of Game June 1st, 6 pm central Experienced GM (5e, MtA, PbtA - kind of a system wonk) in his *ahem* mid 30’s looking to try his hand at Shadow of the Demon Lord. This is a one shot adventure in a fairly fatal system - I’m looking for 3-5 players, and would expect 1-2 characters to die depending on luck. I am not an adversarial GM, I’m on your side, but a little sick of 5e bloodless combats. Tension! Dramatic stakes! Excitement! Havoc!,' and let slip the dice of war. Will be using Roll20 with Discord - a solid internet connection is important, as are headphones and good etiquette if you are eating (mute that mic!). ALL player rolling will use the Roll20 dice, though I might use my own at home to speed GMing. Looking for: Maturity (you are VERY likely to lose a character - be prepared to do it with grace) - 25 years old and up would be ideal. Part of this is you can commit to things and BE ON TIME and inform others when you have a life emergency ASAP so they can find alternates as to not waste your fellows time - NO FOMO/YOLO exceptions. Understanding tone - I run most of my games to go as dark as a TV show - I don’t do torture scenes, graphic murder/sex etc - This game is CW Arrow NOT The Saw films. If you play to explore these themes GOODBYE and good luck! It also is not It’s Always Sunny - no explicitly comedic characters or names (goblins/hobbits are whimsical enough on their own!) Interest in Shadow of the Demon Lord system - if you know d20/5e, you are 50% there. Generally this is a bit simpler than 5e with less tactical movement. RPG Enthusiast (though WE can work with a beginner) It’s always nice to play with a fellow midwesterner/ MinnesOtan I might bump into someday around town. Plot: Some poor random souls all staying at the same inn and tavern one night have the bad luck to bear witness to the troubling first sign of the demon lord’s approach. Can they survive the night? Who will live? Who will die? Heroes will be made, some will likely die. This is an homage to every film you’ve seen where the heroes stay put and try to defend through the night.
