Does everyone need the DnD Essentials Kit or just the DM?

Hi, I'm relatively new to using Roll20, but myself and a  group of friends are looking to set up a DnD 5e game on Roll20. To get full use of the "Essentials Kit", does every player need to purchase the kit, or just the DM? Thanks

In general, only the creator of the game needs to purchase compendium expansions like the Essentials Kit. It becomes available to the players in the game through Compendium Sharing , which gets more permissive as subscription levels increase.
