You can choose "Clear Drawings" from the drawing tool menu to clear all the shapes you've drawn, or switch from the drawing tool to the pointer tool, use that to select a specific drawing, and then hit delete to clear the selected drawing.

Hold down ALT while dragging a selection rectangle, you will select only shapes. You can then use the backspace key on your keyboard to delete them.
