Hardware specs for running roll20 with Dynamic Lighting?

My PC is an ancient beast and I need to upgrade to something new. I want to ensure that the replacement will run roll20 smoothly and hassle free. I am going to be attempting to run Dungeon of the Mad Mage, so lots of maps full of tokens! Would a laptop such as this do the trick?

HP EliteBook 840 G2, Intel Core i5-5300U up to 2.3 GHz, 8GB RAM, 500 GB SATA Laptop Computer Windows 10 Pro (Renewed) https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07NV1WJ3P/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_9of1EbV8AN1V6

Or would I need a PC with more power and a dedicated graphics card? Thank you for any help. I am new to roll20 and look forward to getting my game up and running asap.

I believe the Updated Lighting System is shifting some of the load onto the GPU, but for now with the Legacy system I don't think a dedicated GPU will be a huge boost.

Having said that, the most potatoey device I've run a session on is a Surface Pro 4 i7 - this handles everything fine. I don't think you should have any problems with the i5-5300U and 8gb ram.

Thanks! I appreciate feedback from anyone who has used this system before.

I've used my old k73e Asus laptop and it handled it ok but it was not that module. I ran a couple older modules through the computer.

I have what would be considered an old machine and the current DL works fine as the does basic fog of war.  When the new Advanced fog war first came out performance issues made it  a no go and I haven't checked it since.  When the new DL first came out I tested it and there did not seem to be performance issues but it was completely unfinished and I have not went near it since.

For Legacy Dynamic Lighting, the bar is pretty low. I can run Roll20 on a Chromebook. I don't think I would try using it for Advanced Fog of War or UDL, though.

Playing as a player seems to run everything fine, but as soon as I log onto my game that I DM and try to mess around it slows down, a lot. With dynamic lighting and fog of war. I want those features as what's the point of doing a 23 floor dungeon without them (in my opinion)? Especially as soon as 1 of my players logged on to try that out it just stopped. I thought I'd need a better graphics card due to all the redrawing that module probably requires. I'm a bit worried now what the UDL might do once its released though... even with the new laptop I'm considering?
