Can't Add Pre-existing Characters to Folders?

Hi, I'm new to this site, my brother recommended that I should use it for my campaign I'm running, and I've made a whole bunch of NPC's for it.  Like 50 or so, just for some variety in combat for my players and to add depth to the story.  However, the journal section is really flooded because of all these characters and I have tried creating a folder and adding them to it but it doesn't seem to be working for me. I have looked at other posts similar to this (however they were from between 3-5 years ago so I don't know if the information is still accurate), and those posts said to drag using the three lines at the side to drop the characters into folders.  However, this has not been working for me either and I'm not sure how to get it to work. Anyone know how to do this and could let me know what I'm doing wrong?

When organizing items in the journal, you must drag from the icon at the left.  It should turn into the 3 parallel lines when you hover it.  If you grab by the name, it begins a drag operation to the table, not to folders.

Thank you for answering my question, but I know that.  As I said in my question, I have tried doing that, and it is not working, and I'm quite confused by it.

Whoops!  I should read more carefully. =D Make sure your search field is cleared.  If you have the journal filtered, it seems like dragging doesn't work.

It can be a little tricky to get the proper movement down. I frequently have a little trouble with putting the first item in a folder. Once you have the first one in, though, it's a lot easier.

Also, I think you have to have the folder "open" to put things in it, so it shows a "-" next to it.
