[5E OGL] NPC vs player sheet differing design aesthetic

Does anyone know why the player sheet and NPC sheet have such drastically different designs? The NPC Sheet: Has a sleek look that mimics that of WOTC, it looks like something WOTC could have produced themselves. From the text to the layout, it screams WOTC The rolls share this aesthetic. In contrast, the player sheet:   Has a much more generic aesthetic, and shares none of the "wizards" design that the other sheet possesses. It feels like a template to be used for any game. you see some of the design language in the skills and traits, but no where else. Is there a particular reason for this, and are there any plans to normalize the two? Is the npc sheet "newer"?
The player sheet looks like the character sheet presented in the back of the Player's Handbook , so it very much is in the "Wizards" style.

The player sheet is clearly modelled on the official character sheet and takes its design directly from there. Honestly, i find the more minimal look of the NPC sheet kind of bland, but it serves its purpose as a compact display of the stat block. And it does look like wizard's stat blocks. So both are very clearly modelled on Wizards' design.
I think my biggest gripe is the player roll template. I've had several players complain about how it looks, in particular that crits seem lackluster. I much prefer the roll template from the shaped sheet, but it is no longer in development and I've encountered issues that forced me to switch. I would much prefer if the OGL roll looked closer to the npc roll. I have been using the mpmb sheet for some time for in-person play, the WOTC standard sheet feels somewhat dated in comparison.
